Apparently Uchumi is involved in land squables...the two plots on Thika road are valued at Sh580M and are part of Uchumi's Sh2.7B assets http://mobile.dudamobile...p%3FcontentId%3D418#2122

The Operating Business is doing OK but the Balance Sheet needs cleaning up.

For the disputed piece, the land should NOT be considered as part of the assets until the Title Deeds are in hand!

Why doesn't Ciano use his influence to have the Lands Ministry act on this matter?

I think Uchumi balance sheet is fine with the conversion of debt to equity and hence they have +ve reserves. The rest of the debt on the BS has a fair payment deal. My concerns lie on the trading front. Looking forward to Full Year.

Best of luck to Uchumi shareholders.

The re-listing of uchumi is proving to be ill adviced, not because of what was prevailing but what is happening after it resumed trading. Am seeing the current bear suppress it to the 8bob levels. Those who bought debenture shares at 5bob are the safest when it comes to this counter.

I also think the worst is behind Uchumi. It was never going to be a ride in the park, but their toughest challenges are behind them. Whereas it will take time, when the current inflation is contained and disposal incomes rise, l see Uchumi getting momentum out of that.

The Chinese have cut off Nakumatt at the Cabanas junction and Tusky's at the Embakasi junction near Coke as Uchumi is soon opening at the more accessable new Taj Mall near Pipeline Estate. AWESOME!

The branch at the taj mall in embakassi is one of the best locations they thought of, this is bering in mind that its the first shopping mall when getting to anf headed to JKIA.
But in terms of the share price, for sure it is going down together with the index. No secret about that, those who managed to sell post 10 are wiser.
