Any idea what stanbic pays in interest for it's PURESAVE ACCOUNT? From their website its highly competitive interest rates and am just trying to figure out how much is highly competitive interest rates. Wish they would put some percentage, it would be much easier for us to understand.

=>I'm just wondering, if a SACCO lends at 12% where would it be getting the extra to give dividend at 15%?

Saccos operate a bank called FOSA which lends at very high rates compared to banks yet they find acceptance as the members feel they wil get gud dividends and the ease of applyn the loans. They also have investment projects like plots that they acquire very cheaply and sel to their members at double price or even more.and many more projects.15 ni kidogo ata

A sacco giving more than 7% dividend payout is God send or outright risky...how does it cover its overhead.

Anyway if its there the downside to Saccos is that when you want to pull out from the plan most of them require a 3 month prior notice.

I have realised small banks offer very attractive rates for their savings for instance I had an account with fidelity they were offering 3.5% for regular savings a/c call deposit was about 5% while fixed deposit was above 6% although negotiable...If you are loaded you can negotiate the rate of your saving with this small banks you will be surprised by the value they offer.
