Since the NSE is selling its useless and shallow data...are you willing to part away with a few shillings for hard core research?

@deal...I will definately pay for that hardcore research so long as it gives an indepth analysis of the companies of my choice and it goes ahead to specify when to enter or exit a stock. Thats a + for me.

From a business point of view, why not?

There is market potential for that. Lakini you need very seasoned financial analysts in order to be taken seriously by those who want to spend big bucks.

On the other hand if you consider that we don't have a very active M&A market, then big bucks will be hard to come by, only small time personal investors.

Definately yes. I will pay a reasonable fee for data and research prseneted in a good format. If you ask my honest opinion some of your posts in your blog would pass for payment some would not. Overall its worth it.

In the days when I used to invest heavily in stocks, I discovered that I could only make good money if I did the stock research myself. This is especially the case at the NSE, where brokers are adept at front-running. Front running is where you put in your money in a stock either before an order from a customer or before you issue a BUY BUY research piece.
It’s not that difficult to do research at the NSE, just depends on what your appetite for returns is.

@thedeal - Kestrel had KK as a 'buy' about 4 months ago [since the 2010 results were released] so when did you post your 'buy' recommendation?

@the deal: methinks many serious investors, myself included, would be willing to pay for quality research reports, particularly comparative reports like the one you did for the cement industry. fo sho.
such info is invaluable, but is currently rather difficult to find...
