@GG, if l were there l would grab those goodies & enjoy that lunch voucher thoroughly: l've a feeling even them, and many others (maybe), soon will follow the route taken by safcom & very recently KK. And l wouldn't mind them doing away with those goodies so long as they pass the cost of making them to the shareholders in the form of dividends, now that wouldn't be a bad deal.

After the sumptuous (belch) lunch, let me try and recall what came out:
1. Did you know that if you bring in oil with an oil tanker older than 20 years it will be rejected? Doesn't make any sense to me why the regulatory authorities would be interested in the age of a ship, after all it is the fuel carried that we want.
2. Total agree that KK is giving it's shareholders better value than Total. This the chairman says is because KK have moved into the region and Total hasn't. In the same speech he says Total will take advantage of the oil find in Uganda. Now, for a company that has never been to the region, will they start now? Do they have the infrastructure to do this?
3. Did you know that when you give KPRL a consignment of crude to process you have no way of knowing how much white fuel will come out? Total says that they have got back only 60% of white expected from crude in the last three months. How do you plan when you can't predict the outcome? How do you know KPRL is not shafting you as you can't verify?
4.Total will begin unlocking it's value when the redeemanle preferred share capital is redeemed in 2014, so expect a depressed share price till then.
5. The ERC method of computing controlled prices is flawed and on the basis of this price controls will be done away with at some point.
6. Total has 30% market share but only 4% ulage with KPC. The guy who gets the balance does so for free and uses it for speculation.
7. It costs ksh 500/- to print and mail a set of accounts to ONE shareholder.
