hello wazuans,

I was involved in a car accident o. saturday, and even though I was not hurt, my laptop was damaged.

the vehicle was from car hire and insurance will cover for the damages. is it possible to be compensated my laptop?

any guidance is welcome .

ask the car hire company if their insurance covered guest effects (that is properties of the clients) if not, you are kapput, alternatively, if you had a domestic package policy for your houshold belongings and your laptop was insured under all risks cover, you can approach your insurer who will compensate you.... in the absence of that, you are still kapput. Approach me and I will help you get proper insurance for your little things that matter most in your life.....

it was a head on collision. our vehicle was right while other car was wrong. it is not the car hire insurance that is settling the claims.

YES, YOU CAN BE COMPENSATED BY THE INSURER OF THE NEGLIGENT DRIVER, but that COULD take ages if at all.....could be years.

You dont cover the electronics alone, you cover your household items under a policy called "Domestic Package". This covers allyour household items plus the electronics for fire/burglary/theft but for Electrnics items the cover goes ahead to cover accidental damages eg when your toto pushes or kicks or hits your tv/compt/radio/etc while playing in the house or outdoors..... the covers are usually rarely above kshs 5k per year.
