Buying and selling of coffee

I came across somebody who told me that it is a lucrative business,as in you buy harvested red berries from farmers and you sell to a co-operative society nearby.
You get paid quarterly and that depending on the amount of kilos you sold you stand to make quite some gains.
What am wondering is,is it a legal venture,ama it is black market?

Yah,it is very lucrative so long as you have the license it costs around Ksh 4000/ 90kg bag and two bags of this can produce around 50kg which fetch around $180 for grade AA. which translates to kitu Ksh 14,000.
Again most of the farmers who are sell their coffee are the ones with debts with this societies,so they evade by sell their berry to brokers

@jhon
Is it legal? Do you think the Government might decide to crack down on guys engaging in the trade in this manner?
I come from a coffee growing area,but have feared engaging.
