One word to describe this book? TIMELESS!

The book is to personal finance what Security Analysis by Benjamin Graham &

David Dodd is to securities investing.

It is written in a series of financial parables which are easy to understand.

Follow the link for a comprehensive review of the book as well as a link to a free download of the e-book

I enjoyed this book as well. Basic & easy to understand. I'd say it is an oldies version of Rich dad, poor dad. I highly reccomend it!

For investing I would recommend the following two books:

1. Winning investment habits of Warren Buffet and George Soros
2. Trading for a Living by A. Elder

I started by reading chapter one of this book after I bought it and I put it far away just as soon because it sounded too easy like it's for a child then 1 yr down the line I stumbled on it and I'd nothing to read and what profound advice it carries. Reminds me of how I'd dharaud "Who moved my cheese".

BBI will solve it

The Richest Man in Babylon is the best book on investing ever!

it is an easy read and has real time tested principles.

i bet if you are not able to apply the principles in that simple book; it will be hard for you to apply the principals in other advanced books.

i would definitely recommend it:

The story in that book is incredible; the best part is lending resources to relatives.

I had never come across that in real life ---- until I recently sold property to a relative without involving lawyers; huge mistake.

But the lesson is very plain in that book.

The Richest Man in Babylon is a Must-Keep; first read it many years ago. The lessons are timeless, when we remember that these parables were written some 80 years ago.

Incredible: people are just the same and never change.

Enjoy.

Thanks kenyainvesting for the download link. Now reading the book and thoroughly enjoying. What may I as is this forums interpretation of the third rule of gold "Gold clingeth to the protection of the cautious owner who invests it under the
advice of men wise in its handling.
" How do I, a wanjiku, apply this rule in Kenya. Who are these wise men I can trust with my coins. Is it perhaps the fund managers. Is it true that one can actually get rich investing in funds or do they just help you beat inflation alone. What other wise men are there...... saidieni tafadhali.

Glad you are enjoying the book!
I wouldn't recommend fund managers because of the high 'management' fees.
The wisest man of all is yourself. Take time to familiarise yourself with investing basics.
Ama instead of investing with fund managers, just invest in stocks such as Centum, Transcentury, BRITAK. These hold a vast array of investments

" Who moved my cheese" is a good one- easy to read and understand, but the lesson is invaluable. After reading it @ 2012 which character best describes you?
