i went to with draw sh 20k fron doonholm coop ATM.i inserted my card,my password then the amount. as usual the request for reciept came and pressed yes hell the screeen went off /blank after 30sec screen lights were back but MY 20K was missing .waited for 5 min to see if luck will fall on me but NO.waited for the next person on the line to use the ATM and he with draw 1k and he got it. not to despair i waited for the next 5 guys but all what they got is their actual withdwawals. my 20 k had dissapeared.being a sunday i called card center and advised to report to my branch at haile silassie(forgive for mispelling) avenue.was tossd right center then refered to some guy upstairs who said i write a letter,i did that thereon,he said they have run the system and saw that the my card actually withdrew the cash .went again but same story to all bankers and or anyone who has gone through same mess is there anything i can do or do i forget the story and move on. well 20k is enough to pay rent for 2 months what are my option guys I GOT THE CASH BACK anyone who lives within their means suffer from lack of imagination

@ my pesa,hell no! Do not let this pass. You have every right to follow this up to the end. I may not be a banking expert but surely you have a right to seek redress. You must raise hell with them otherwise they won't take you seriously. 20k is a lot of money. I don't care what their system says. There must be proof that there was power failure at that point after all you called then immediately it happened. The customer is always right. I wish you all the best smile

You have stated that the screen went off & was back after 30 secs or so. I am assuming by this that it may not have been a blockout. Most of ATMS have CCTV monitoring so you or they should be able to get that footage as proof source. In anycase when theres normally a blackout most ATMS do not return the cards as precaution its retained. Follow this up after all its your hard earned cash

@Mypesa what do you mean forget the story and move; kwani uliokota pesa. Banks claim to have cameras at ATMs tell them to produce the tapes. Do you think the bank would have left you the cash if they erroneously credited you with the money or your consultation with the ukuta yielded 40k instead of the 20. They would have recovered every cent + expenses. Get back your money 'If you are not living on the edge,you are taking up too much space'

A reconciliation is normally done for every ATM on a daily basis. All transactions are captured in a journal roll and Cash remaining in the ATM should balance to this. If the ATM didn't dispense the cash,COOP should by the following morning have reversed the transaction even without you asking. But again it all depends on their systems,processes & people. Let me not brand u a fool,actually,im struggling not to. They always return ua cash,go see the manager n raise a stink my friend. If u lose the money,blame uaself,not the bank! The only reason why some people are still alive is coz its illegal to shoot them!!

...Man,don't let it go. Go to Coop house looking ugly and demand to see the CEO. Let them review your actions at that time in the ATM...

I have seen such cases at Co-op house branch and after registering their complaint the cash is credited back to their accounts the same day. Dont worry,its a common thing especially with co-op ATMs. Report the matter to H/Q at CO-OP House. BOBB

...@Kingfisher I guess by the time you went to school English Language and Literature had been combined into one and therefore I assume that you must have come across some things like figures of speech,metaphors similes etc. Even without going that far you must have read a standard three story book called Kwaku goes shopping....
