I hear today it touched 6 bob now I wish I had bailed out @ 9 bob. Having bought it @34 this is the most foolish investment decision I have ever made....At least safaricom is picking up.My watchlist is painted RED. I am still holding this monkey. But i fell for you @selah. At 34.00 wow. Thats painfull. Once it settles i will definatly average down. I see it settling at 5.00 .And sell when it has a relief rally. Its really painfull to sell this stock at a 50% loss. If i sell at lets say 15% loss the profit that i wld have gotten from buying the defensive stocks ( NMG, ARM, WTK , BAT) will easily compensate for that loss.

At some point I got tired of countering seasoned experts and financial gurus - but if anyone cares to look at the archives, the writing has been on the wall for a while. Shove your knowlegde of PE, profits, ratios and all that - you need only have listened to someone tracking the sector.
Outlook? Access becomes part of a bigger player in the next 3-6 months. They still command a decent share of the corporate market. Their retail strategy might be a non starter as was their IT Outsourcing one...(OpenView...someone say "fail")

There was a story in aljazeera that highlighted a complex problem facing companies like AK that is companies that put up ICT infrastructure. The argument was developers[swipes] tend to generate more revenues using ICT infrastructure than the companies in-charge of putting up the infrastructure i.e pipes. And they gave a very good solution to this problem the best way to tackle this discrepancy is to collaborate with developer so that you get a slice of their revenue or venture into content development urself and enjoy those revenues also. Here is a link I have found from Reuters highlighting that challenge. http://blogs.reuters.com...just-a-fight-over-money/'......to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.' This thing is headed for 4/- or less. No future growth anticipated here which is the basis for a stock price rise.

So why hold? Here’s a thought - Just sell everything now..Then buy at 5 bob and sell when there’s that relief rally. Clearly, begging you to stay away from access wont work. Disclaimer: still holding a few. They wont cause me sleepless nights though.

Here is a link I have found from Reuters highlighting that challenge. http://blogs.reuters.com...ust-a-fight-over-money/[/quote] @Selah, yes - that is true - BTW even mobile operators may very well go the way of the dinosaurs unless, when it comes to data, they stop thinking about merely providing "dumb pipes" and start thinking "smart pipes" where they tap into this revenue with 3rd parties. Interestingly this whole issue of sharing and collaboration takes us back to that arguement whereby the smaller mobile operators in Kenya would like a seamlessly connect mobile payment system...lets not regurgitate that tired argument that smaller players want to take advantage of scom innovation - what it boils down to is that the more seamless and shared the system, the more transactions that can run on it. Think Pesa Point and Visa Electron - if bank A decided it would implement all its ATMs alone, and not share with others (even the cost of building ATMS) that bank would not be in Kenya any more. Open up the system - allow more transactions and third party applications - same way we want a common currency in EAC - what will that mean for each country?

I must admit, you got some mighty big ballz o' steel. bit qw's are bigger. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Watch this space in a couple of weeks ama tell you how acck will pull off a profit for 2011, the other years i dunno. Hint: Notice how they managed to cut their staff costs by 50% From 1B to 0.5B. And no i dnt have any acck in my books.

What are you seeing that am not? i need to know... because, clearly, this thing seems like it's feeding through an IV line... How sustainable is a share where the company results to cutting costs to beef up its profits instead of creating new business? I think these guys are relying on LUCK rather than having a strategy and innovation to move this company... may be time they injected completely new blood at the top!

A good speculative play. They have 2 options either go the Jamii way or KDN, partner with a telco & sell bandwith wholesale or be bought by a 'strategic investor' 'They say money cannot buy me happiness but when i compare when i had none and now, i'm happier' Kevin O'leary
