Is there any significant savings when you buy goods from duty-free shops? Interested in buying a watch and perfume

Depends on the stuff and the duty free.....kwa airport....I can confirm that on phombe you make some good savings!!!!

For a watch and perfume if you buy from duty free inside the aircraft you will make some handsome savings!!!!

No. But you likely get the genuine stuff. And then for the watch, if it comes under warranty and has issues, how do you access the shop?

cheapest prices obtained from KQ in-flight purchases...at times the prices are better than the Dubai duty free terminal...JKIA duty free is largely a hoax...

If you are visiting Dubai buy anything from the shops in town not at the airport. Most Duty frees shops are expensive because real estates at airports is very expensive, in addition most shoppers are overwhelmed psychologically and are persuaded to buy there including being the last point of shopping people do it without giving it a second thought.

Duty free shops like Dubai are more expansive than dowtown Dubai. The reason being that Dubai as a country is a duty free state.

They make their sales because Dubai airport is a MAJOR transit stop to Europe and Asia. Therefore most passengers dont leave the airport, and think they are getting a good deal, which they are not.

I have found this with laptops, phones, cameras etc. All these are cheaper in town as the shops have cut throat competition.

Pombe by the way is cheap and worth buying even if you dont drink.
