The Commission on the Implementation of the Constitution has asserted that the next elections are due in August 2012.

That is all good in theory. But the elections is not an event that exists in a vacuum. Like many other things in the new constitution, the election date is dependent on the passing of laws and setting up of key institutions before then. Parliament has to step up to the plate if August is to happen. If they don't, elections in 2013 is not impossible.
