KenolKobil yesterday launched a 2 shillings discount offer in selected fuel stations.

The discount will be on this Friday and in the next weeks to come, every Tuesdays and Fridays. The stations where the offer is running have a yellow signage on the price board.

I'm hoping that this is the advent of price wars in the Kenyan oil market similar to whats been happening in the mobile service industry.

Do you think other Oil companies will engage in price battles hence reduce pump prices?

To me this will not affect the other players much coz, Kobil is offloading old stocks. Most likely it has oil at Kipevu which it cannot bring into the stations coz the petrol tanks are full. The fellows used to sell oil so expensively back then and so they lost customers. This must be very short sighted management.Shame on you Shame on you

The offer is every Tuesday and Friday from 7am to 8pm. I don't know how long it will last but if you have their K-card, you get 4sh off. I don't care if its old stock, i just want to fuel for less.

I saw one either on Langata rd or Hurlingham. And this is great! I'm also a happy KK shareholder but honestly KK needs to style up a bit and change the look of the stations and people now, I feel like you I'm in some funny individual owned peti which sells siphoned, contaminated fuel that will give my car virusi.

I am in the process of getting one.. call KK and ask for the K-card section. Apparently they also have an offer on the card: they don't charge any entrance fee. From what I'm seeing in the press, it seems the fuel prices will be going up soon,(read 14th April)a little discount goes a long way...Applause

I didn't know petrol had "old stock" and "new stock"...technically, its all old stock having come from dinosaur bones anyways... isn't it?

i still think we are over exploited. when i heard about the disc, i thought i should fuel full tank on friday but quick maths made me more pissed. my full tank accomodates 45ltr*2=90 bob. Who is fooling who? ABK.
