Books closure i.e. guyz who got in 4 divs are leavin.
Expect a continued drop for the short run, hope to pick up some b4 the split (hopefully at around 54) for extremely shortterm purposes.

Share is trading ex-div today hence the drop in price. Share will split at the end of May, so nothing to excite the market for now. I actually like BBK at this price 57-60. It means it has dropped by more than the dividend and I expect a reasonable growth in Q1 PAT, although not necessarily from growth in the loan book. It's a BUY in my books for the non-aggresive investors. Worst case is that if the mkt tanks, Barclays is unlikely to drop too much.

I know;can u explain why with a dividend of 4.71 and a split of 4:1 the share price should fall that hard?
I expected kidu (67-4) = 63 and not 60.

By midnight 15th march you only qualify for dividend. For share split I think its end of march thats when books will be closed for split.

@lovely2010, BBK issued a sharesplit timetable dated 11th March which was posted to the NSE. The shares will trade cum-split all the way to 3oth May, going ex-split on 31st May. The split shares will be available for trading from 13th June 2011.

Hope this answers the SPLIT question once and for all.

KIRTI, Books closure for the split is 30-05-11. I quote from the BBK circular:

"Monday, 30th May 2011; Assuming CMA and shareholder approval, last day of pre-split trading."

No it shouldn't because after books closure if you buy the stock you do not get the divs nor the split so why bother with the stock?Shame on you

I have seen that the daily price list from the NSE indicates 30th March as the date for books closure for the split. However, I trust the BBK circular as it is issued by Judy Nyagah, the Company Secretary of Barclays Kenya.
