I think it was an Ok ruling to break the stalemate but to liken it to Solomons wisdom is to belittle Solomon or over-elevate Marende.

I sometimes ponder what goes through President Kibaki's mind - I see acrimonious and violent exchanges from Parliarment, and the division cascades down to the country.

Is it that the government exerts no influence over the Judiciary Service Commission? Does the government have no women who carry their bias? Don't they clearly have numbers in parliarment?

All polls I recall show that institution of the speaker under Marende, is held by the public with much higher esteem than Judiciary, Parliarment, President, PM etc. We need to give this very difficult judgement the benefit of the doubt, considering the courts are of the same mien.

I just feel this polarization, reminiscent of state of affairs before 2007 elections, could have been avoided for the good of the country. Surely, what does leadership demand? I must say I have noted a case where speaking softly may not be akin to spreading peace and unity.

Am laughing in glee watching Uhuru tear down at Marende's ruling.Naturally, upholding the judicial appointments would've. been upholding impunity by Kibaki.

Well, the man & his tight clout of Sycophants can suck it up their a**es & go to hell. And they still don't get it.

These days am so ashamed of being kyuk. All I see is impunity, tribal cronyism, bootlicking and blind sycophancy.I shall never vote for Uhuru;NEVER.Or any such fat baby,chest-thumping on the pedestal of dad's corruptly snatched loot.Anyone with a head properly between their shoulders ought to see that with eyes wide shut (!)

According to Big Question on the Citizen TV news at 9, with over 5,000 responses, 83% believe Marende did the right thing for the country 17% said no, and they are still part of us Kenyans.

Let's move on...

Eveen you would have been told. I am told akina Mr muratina and milosevic pay their hoodlums almost a metre each for each time there is a crucial voting session in bunge.
Today those metres were wasted.

Hence Mr Muratina being so mad at Raira...

wewe ni muongo sana
ashamed to be a kikuyu? . i doubt that you are one of us.
was uhuru alone in the press conference?
what i saw today was MARENDE saving RAO the humiliation of facing fellow mpigs(majority) on the floor of the house. this was a ploy to try and fix RAO. it wasnt about the nominees.or the constitutionality of the process of nominations. fortunately it seems RAO has a big brother to save him . i can tell its not yet over na chuma chake ki motoni .

marendes ruling is ok because as kenya is changing. we need checks and balances in government. in future it seems things will be done by the book.luckily there will be no PM and better still both kibaki na raila waende nyumbani come 2012.
Politics is just things to keep the people divided and foolish and put your trust in men and none of them can do nothing for you...

I find it funny that wazuans are hurling insults at akina uhuru yet u guys were silent when the same marende in his un-solomonic wisdom allowed the flawed and undemocratic Ligale report to be debated and passed in bunge. Mind you this report will affect Kenyans for a long time. Too bad its purpose is to disenfranchise people from certain areas

this is the folly. the people from certain areas want the things for other purposes not only primarily for development of those areas.

I also did obseve that UK was overly bitter, I also noted that WR was with him at the press conference. It's important to note that this are the two hague principals...what is it they know that we don't about the nominees...have thay already compromised these guys should a defferal succeed? It's new dawn these moist neve learn.

It is good that he put this matter to rest once and for all!! I was getting tired of the arguments and counter-arguments. "..difficult decisions must be made" as he put it.

HOWEVER: there is danger that one principal can hold the country at ransom by simply choosing to "publicly disagree" with the other. Thankfully, there is only 20 months remaining in this coalition government. Cross your fingers.

@Kadonye, do you recall the voting pattern then?? All RV and Nyanza Mpigs voted to disenfranchise their Central counter parts. With their short memory, the central Mpigs join hands to entrench impunity.

Politics is about numbers which Rao doesn't have at the moment....UK, Ruto & Co still have the numbers to reject any nominees Raila comes up with in parliament. You might hate these two but they know they have all the support they need to worry the PM.

Still; with his ability to make level-headed and independent decisions, shouldn't we give him the job of CJ?

I think this is just the constitution at work. I see no solomonic wisdom of marende, he delayed the decision by sending the list back to RAO en EMK croonies who were not able to make the decision. He gave the two principals time to correct the assumed flaw they did not take it up.

Hence, he had to undertake the difficult job of reading to Kenyans what is already in Black en White in our constitution.

Am afraid the country is getting polarized the more day by day en we may just have a repeat of the 2007 PEV. How i wish we have matured enough to realize "ITS ME AND YOU WHO WILL FIGHT" en the Mpigs will be safe watching from their guarded premises as we butcher each other.

In 2007 the killing majored btw Kyuks en Kales . the question is how fast have they forgotten that they are now a darling??? the IDPs have not been resettled.

lets be sober en stop this balkanization of our beloved country Kenya en just Uphold peace..Peace for Daima sisi ni wakenya.
The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts while the stupid ones are full of confidence
