Smitta Smitten, law graduate (but drank too much), won scholarship to study creative art somewhere prestigious (don't know if he pursued), and once had a company TTL - Tobeca Triumvirate Ltd.

I saw this satirical jibe from Media Madness; quite hilarious:

I has a greatski life; a weekly article in a national paper, 2 books, in my new language, fans who know just little enough of ze English and brain cell to loves my style. Just wish she who bore my genius into thiz worldski had given me a better name…Vlad, Boris, Jerkovski, anyzing wit a ‘ski’ to show my heritage…not some pussy name like Mochama.

I don’t tell anybody this but I has a law degreeski…dem haterz rumour I didn’t join the bar coz my grammar sucked…I got in the bar dammit! With lotsa vodoski makez me dream of St. Petersburg, home. I like his writing style both as Tony Mochama and his alter ego smitta smitten. Got a good sense of humour, lots of Russian influence inlcuding the vodoski - musta studied there.

But on an even keel, often in life I've personally encountered this challenge, which I'll name 'breathing my own exhaust'. The best of them have to go through it:
-an artist who paints more for himself
-a drum player who is lost in his head
-a comedian who's laughing loudest at his own jokes
-an egocentric politician who believes he speaks for the [which?] people
-or an obsesive compulsive genius like John Nash in a beautiful mind

So I'd argue Tony Mochama is as good as it gets. If he stepped back 10 paces, he'd increase his social awareness and allow all to appreciate his literary genius.

This profile is controlled by me and my two sisters, so your suspicions are reasonable. Back to topic...

Hehehehe...

GG. Hi brother. Youcant, am not sure!

I know Tony Mochama very well and can lay claim to having had many revelations into his creative beautiful mind and psyche.

But Smitta, I don't read because as latter, he targets gullible people much younger than myself and himself - or older peeps trapped in their teenage psyche, for his employer and thus his paycheque; in very much the same way whispers targeted middle-aged urban middle-classes. Smitta's category of readers is the easiest to capture as all u have to do is paint life on the fast lane..partying, glorify booze, sex and drugs, vilify or praise celebs...rebel...break social norms..

If u don't understand Smitta it's because u are not meant to, nothing to worry about! Just same way we usually stop understanding the latest vulgar black American rap as we age.

That's surprising. Mochama was pretty eloquent and had a real way with words both written and spoken. Could get rather arguementative in just about any topic in and out of class class and quite eloquently too. Heard he used to take one Dr. Kiplagat head on in class and hold his own. Maybe he has regressed with age and alcohol or something.

On his Pulse column (at least the Scene At as the he writes a lot more content on Pulse) when he started writing it I think he had a character in mind for it but has somehow become that very character. Like he initially had an idea of a distinct character to do the column but as with the best laid plans the dike bursted.

Personally I think he is wasting himself at Standard.

@Muganda some of the writing at Media Madness look like his. Wont be surprised if he is a contributor there.

Did he ever graduate? He once asked a lecturer who liked to put on suspenders whether he was "suspending his shoulders downwards or his trouser upwards". Got a supp and I never heard that he passed that paper.
