@simonkabz, the most "hardy" laptop, hands down, is the Lenovo (formerly IBM) thinkpad. HP/Cpq is one of the worst brands. I've overseen the selection and implementation of literally hundreds of thousands of notebooks, desktops, servers, and network equipment, and while HP/Cpq makes very good servers, their notebooks are garbage. Always overheating. Chassis flexing. The Thinkpad is the only notebook worth actually repairing (based on the US price of parts and labor). I was afraid when IBM sold the brand to Lenovo, and Lenovo makes non-Thinkpad lappies that are garbage. But the Thinkpad is still number 1, and Apple laptops number two. They are both expensive, but like the old saying goes "Noone has ever been fired for buying IBM."
