Very good question... When call rates went down by 60% in Sep'10, the share price went down a whole freaking 30% averaging to 20% down since. Now Safaricom makes 90% of its revenue on-net and Airtel wants this price to go down another 65%? Market has to respond sooner or later but I approximate another 20% down to below 4/=. Wolololo yaye This telecoms is the most competitive sector in Kenya at the moment. Do banks even have it this bad?

Only one provider can survive this madness in the long-term and we all know which one that is. So it's time to get in, buy and hold SCOM when it drops as a result of this assault and reap big when this sideshow ends in one provider selling the business to the Chinese - we all know which one. BBI will solve it :)

Between airtel and safcom. The company that will win this war, is the one that can afford to continue with this competition the longest. The winner wont come out unscathed, but will also be seriously injured. The investor's chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself

COOP 255,000 ABP 15.85; IMH 5,000 ABP 35.55; KQ 604,200 ABP 6.96; MTN 23,800 ABP 5.20

Hii itakuwa mchezo wa paka na panya. Safcom will respond, maybe cutting on-net calls to 2 bob thereby halting any migration BUT as earlier stated, as consumers we should be delighted. The battle will be for new customers. Portability will have to wait till April GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

Safcom shares are rubish as it is... Airtel will sell the company at a profit once they have more customers, which must have been their plan all along...Come quick, market the name, increase the customer base then back to the bottom line. methinks they'll sell it by year aug, 2011. It's really hard being everything to everybody, you actually end up being nothing to nobody!

Safaricom I believe, are also working hard to chase customers away. What's with the poor network and irregular billings?
