REA Trading has paid the initial Ksh. 85 Per Share on 02 July 2015. Now awaiting the balance.
Though forced, Ksh. 20 to Ksh. 85+ is not bad business. No?

Some opted for the money to be deposited into their accounts, those will certainly receive first. We opted for the cheque to be sent by snail mail and that's why I was asking.

Nitawauzia. Anuway had missed the deadline due to the relatively low value of the shares..

It seems those who remained in Rea Vipingo must be raking it in!

It's a pity. In my view , Rea is one of the best managed and transparent companies on the NSE.

Their annual reports and AGM's were very informative. At the end of the AGM's, the directors (particularly Mr. Robinow and the MD) would stick around for over an hour to interact one on one with shareholders. They never harikishad anybody.

In my view, their offer price of kshs. 40/- is far too low for a long-term investor (prepared to hold on forever!) bearing in mind the assets, particularly land, that they hold and the potential of this company. Please note that they are the largest sisal producer in Africa.

Methinks that the new horticultural developments at Dwa and the wind farm initiatives at the coast are wildly exceeding their expectations!

Pity that CMA/NSE is permitting suspension of trading. Continuation would have seen determination of the true value of this company.

Expect more of the same from companies whose shares are tightly held and thinly traded.

Anyone with more info on the takeover of Ennsvalley Bakery by Unga Group?

You quoted Unga in this comment made in 2013. And 5 years later, the majority shareholders of Unga are trying to bamboozle the minority shareholders by offering a discounted price!

LOL If the bizarre bid from Centum is all about land then Kenyans are obsessed with land...btwn who is going to back Centum's bid? Centum is just a spoiler and just prolongs the process...

Centum did end up with the land. The "fair value" has jumped since the takeover. Centum was not a spoiler as you claimed except for the Robinows who wanted to con the minority shareholders.

Whatever the motive, it's clear Centum will likely succeed in either keeping status quo with a price of 50/= for everyone, or simply raising the offer price to 55/= then a bidding war https://www.nse.co.ke/li...r-nse-press-notice-2013

Spoiler alert
3.1 Issued share capital of RVP comprises 60 million ordinary shares. Centum owns 296,000 ordinary shares

4.1 Subject to whether Centum receives acceptances (waiver at their discretion) aggregated to 25% of issued shares RVP.

5.1 Centum wants RVP to continue to remain listed on the NSE.

We should have invited Centum to bid on Unga! Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

Ah I will stop commenting on this forum...LOL...not good for someone trying to build a brand...all this arguments ultimately hurt ones brand...since you cant control who responds to your post here....its also not good for clients... I have clients who hold huge positions in RVP based on my recommendations...you can follow me on twitter @mikada08 I will follow back. For those interested in my portfolio and quarterly updates go to my blog....from now its twitter and blog.

Well, they are lucky that your advice to sell was not actionable given the shares had been suspended from trading or they would have sold out at 40 when the final price was 85/- (or something like that).

As the Bulls fight, the grass will suffer. This thing might go the KK or Carbacid way. For the uninitiated we the KK faithfull are still waiting for our Sh 21 offer. We are still waiting for 21/- d'oh! d'oh! d'oh!

Centum bought off the Matibas in Carbacid by private treaty during the protracted BOC-Carbacid takeover bid and reaped big by selling just after suspension or trading.

I admire Centum though. They have the brains, Cash and Connetions to upset the "Rainbows".
And now I am in Centum as well.Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

@thedeal, what are your major holdings?

1. My portfolio is public knowledge....I even give quaterly performance updates.

2. Where was everyone? Why do we have all of sudden this huge interest in Vipingo's land? I cant recall any research firm offering coverage on RVP!

3. For me I rather have Ksh40 now than wait 2 years and not receive Ksh50...the opportunity cost is too high. Coz Trust me any bid apart from those two brothers will not succed.

4. Whats the point of having a relisted RVP with a divided board? Because Centum & the two brothers are clearly not on the same page in terms of strategy!

I think the final price offered was 85/- per share thanks to Centum, VIP and REAT fighting it out.

KQ = gasping for air in 2018
KK = I don't think there has been much of a gain since 2013-2015 after Segman nearly drowned it. Doing better in 2018 but a flat performance from 2013 to 2018

RVP = made out like bandits! 27/- to 85/- in 18 months!
