MPs throw out Sh5bn core capital rule

Deputy Minority Leader Jakoyo Midiwo on Thursday staged a late amendment to the Banking Act, throwing out a proposed change that would have forced banks to increase their core capital over the next three years to Sh5 billion.

Good for shareholders..they will not have to go back to their pockets to meet the min capital requirements

they've been very quiet about the closure date, how much capital they have raised And when it will become a bank.

Unlike last year when they used to give updates once in a while.

Any word on half year results?

There was a time when we heard "around July July will be a the closing date". Well it's almost September no word yet. Once the licence will be issued we will close. No word yet.this thing will be over diluted . If they feared about raising the 5 billion required by cbk then they shouldn't worry coz it's no more . They should come open and update members
