Ha ha
I miss 'gutubira; (swimming in the river) and the samaki we used to call 'tuteru' which we would have to cook in a kimbo tin away from home becasue cucu would not stand the smell of fish.
i miss the matches we used to organise with our rival villages 'mostly sliding on bare butts on a slippery hill'.
I remember the boys would urinate in the teachers tea water and the girls would spit on it.
What happened to 'bira' and 'tiri'.
Oh what peace we often forfeit oh what needless pain we bear. Joseph M. Scriven,1855.

This is kool. I remember some insects we used to capture from the river for the girls. They could then bite them on their nipples to make their boobs big... Boys had fun!!

@Njung'e
u right! we used to call them 'njereri'....
Also memories of when we used to cook kwa mawe tatu. we could start dozing before food is ready & when woken up to eat,saa zingine u miss & chota ashes. Remembering also a day when my sis missed and bit her little toe.
then in class one day we were asked to tunga sentensi ukitumia jina pole. My pal akainua mkono ati 'pole kwa kupata mtoto'
and when we had mumps,we used to zunguka a mti called 'mutuntu' asking it to help us carry the mumps so we help it carry its fruits. No hospital,na tunapona. Talk of being superstitious!!
