If anybody can compare Rooney with Andy Cole..........then end of story, NO ARGUMENT. How do you compare water with oil?

Between Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke i will go for the latter anytime....And they played under the same circumstances.

Dude, we are talking about this season! Not last season or whatever season! Allan Shearer has scored the most goals in the premier league ever, was he better than Torres? I think not!

Point is the guy is exceptional THIS SEASON, not good, exceptional! Game recognize Game...if you can't see it then maybe you just don't want to. Hata gukaa agrees on this one!

Though a strikers role is to score goal Rooney is a complete footballer. He looks for the ball by himself at times and scores.he is also ready to do defensive duty.the same cannot be said of some of the so called world class strikers. i never saw ruud van score a goal out of the 18 yard box and neither did i see him dribble the ball past one opposing player. phillipo inzaghi same story

I marvel at your praise of Rooney but do you know he falls way short of potent strikers to have graced the Premier league, the top four are Andy Cole,Alan Shearer, Ruud Van Nistelroy and Fernando Torres in that order.

Interesting to note he also laggs behind Kevin Phillips,Jermaine Defoe,Darren Bent, Didier Drogba,Anelka (this are current players in the premier league)

I wonder why Fergie Keeps him???

@All... Why are we arguing with somebody who wonders why 'Fergie keeps him'?

Looks like there is hope for Arsenal. Petr Cech got injured last night. Looked serious (I pray that he is out for a long time). Chelsea are also missing two left backs due to injuries. I expect English teams to take advantage of this.

In the 1999/2000 season Kevin Phillips Scored 30 goals for sunderland in his first stint in the premiership, In fact his 30th goal game against chelsea at the bridge where they won 4-1.In this season he won the premiership golden boot and the European Golden boot award, currently he is the only Englishman to have won the latter....so much for wayne Rooney.

Kevin phillips plays for birmingham now coming in as a sub, you see why am not excited about the exploits of Rooney this season???

Joachim Löw (Germany coach)

“Wayne who? No, I know him, all right. At the moment he is one of the very best strikers in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo is among the best also, but what matters about Rooney is that this season he is in unbelievable form — and that is with the national team as well as with Manchester United. Whether it is in the Premier League, the Champions League or for his country, nobody can stop him at the moment. My feeling when I see him is that he is unstoppable. He has everything that a striker needs.”

I don't see much difference between the 2

There is a big difference between scoring goals and making goals.
