So with a probable dividend of note more than 50 cents, what else is exciting to hold on to this share? Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

@impunity if u are holding KK for bonus shares then you better sell now, i expect a dividend of between 0.25-0.40.

KK is already a fairly liquid stock. Anyone betting on a bonus has odds against them.

Bonus? Unlikely but KK has shown NOCK dust! Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

Anyway, a bonus is merely dividing the cake in smaller pieces! On (2) So what? KK will not give a huge bonus! BTW, the paid-up capital is an irrelevant figure in this day & age! Many countries have done away with it for all practical purposes... What is important is 'Shareholder Funds'... Greedy when others are fearful. @vvs. As I concur with @GG, isn't it cheaper to give a bonus and keep the cash for re-investment? @the deal. I'm expecting 0.35 to 0.43 else I throw stones! The opposite of courage is not cowardice, it's conformity.

Currently, the bear hasnt mauled these counters much to my dismay;
1. KPLC- still trading at Ksh 21
2. KCB - same as KPLC was hoping for Ksh 20
3. C& G- its spike has lulled me abit.
As for my much sought after 'Crown Jewels' Jubilee and the sister DTB are getting a steady beating.
I should pick them up in due course as the blood letting picks.

I'm yet to understand why Jubilee is often referred to as "jewel or gold" in wazua. What dont I know? Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

@GG @jerry KK could always 'give' a bonus vs paying a dividend but unlikely... [I may be wrong!] I think KK will give a small dividend to save cash for the fuel wars coming up as well as expansion [see all the M&A they have been doing in Uganda, Zambia, etc] Greedy when others are fearful. The future. You'll always need oil at whatever price and their impressive aggressive expansion strategy will one day pay back handsomely. BBI will solve it :)

KQ plans to fly to Abuja from 3-July-2011... The share seems so cheap to me... What I need is a loan at decent rates! Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

It is time again to pick up cheap stocks and sell them at their previous lows. mumias- at 7.00 bob. A return to 7.80 would put some change in the pocket, or hold for future prospects. equity- is not getting to the sweet, sub 24.00 zone yet. Just too tempting it would be at that price. arm- has a high pe now, but its due to expected capiticy increase in the new plant. At 155, its a steal. And its also what growth stocks are made of. kq- i know its hitting new lows, but do you have the cohones? below 34.00, i cant believe what im seeing. co-op- i feel is valued correctly now, will still grow in future. kcb n dtk- are refusing to come down, i think due to attractive payouts they have pending. And many others, scan not also coming down. The investor's chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself

I know there's never clear answer on that, but what do you think. Financial yr is ending on 31st march, do u think results in june, will get this jumbo jet, back to mid forties at least? I am always cagey about discussing share prices [tho I do] but prefer discussing prospects for the firms... I think KQ's PAT will be 2bn or so for FY 2010-11 [Note there was a huge paper 'loss' for cash flow hedges in 1H 2010-11 which will materialise in 2H 2010-11] Greedy when others are fearful. I dont believe KQ is cheap at the moment unless we see 4Q double digit PAX numbers minus the Local PAX numbers then maybe we can start thinking otherwise.

With the way the market indicators are looking, BUY is not a good option in the foreseeable future. u may think buyin KQ at 34 is a good bargain only to see the price tumble furthur. all indicators r predicting a gloom short term future for the NSE; if its nt the ICC n related politics, then its the forex mkt, add that 2 th Japan crisis, don 4get mpigs hv resumed n they are going 2 mk th situation worse than it is...its endless, the bear will continue to reign
