First off I think SAF made a few tactical errors in the Wolves match. We were unfortunate to lose Rio before the start but why put Johnny Evans instead of Smalling. Say what you will about game time but Evans has had many chances to prove himself and hasn't done so. Wolves are fighters so a guy like Anderson in mid field would have done pretty well. And when worst came to worst, Rooney should have been off instead of Berba. Wolves were very well organized defensively so no excuses. I knew we could not go unbeaten in this day and age but expected better at Molineux. So @Taz we didn't lose against a good team, we lost against a team that played well on the night when we didn't find our rythm. The focus however is on the title, not an unbeaten run. I believe we'll bounce back at OT, even if Mancini packs a bus a la`Emirates.

As for the Newcastle Arsenal game, I would feel as hard done as the Gunners did, that 2nd penalty was the softest penalty I've ever seen - if you're going to award two penalties to one team in a game, they'd better be very obvious penalties. Tough luck gunners, but our loss still keeps the race open.

It's amazing how teams can pick up points at the bridge nowadays - once upon a time the Bridge was a fortress where the best you could get was a hard earned or luck draw!I believe Man Utd can still beat Chelshit at the Bridge. Liverpool are getting better and better and our trip to Anfield will be tough. The trip to Emirates favours us if Arsenal continue with their defensive frailties.

The matter at hand is our noisy neighbors who have been blowing hot and cold. We'll be in a better position when we finish with them.

@TAZ, I always tell you to check the kind of squad Arsenal had enroute to winning the title in 2004. Its not losing to Wolves that will give you the title. Its common knowledge that Mr.Bean needs to invest in experienced/seasoned players to fight for the title.

I hope you are not waiting for United to do a Liverpool/Arsenal/Chelsea after losing on Saturday. History should tell you, United always recover from such losses.

Applause Applause Well said.

The kind of penalties awarded over the Arsenal game were dubious to say the least. If such penalties were to be awarded consistently, then Ivanovic would have won one yesterday as there was a clear push, and a handball was also to be awarded to Man Utd.

On Saturday Spurs, Tottenham and Man city were all beneficiaries of spot kicks a manifestation of Referees playing to the fans gallery as all recipients were home teams.

@Maich, watched the Real game and was thinking to myself, if only Ronaldo had Messi's humility, maybe they'd be mentioned in the same breath...the back flick and the way he almost set himself up by cushioning the ball with his back were phenomenal plays...watching La Liga soccer is refreshing, even Sociedad had some pretty slick moves even when 2 nil behind.

Messi remains top scorer after his hat trick but I think the moment of the game was when two Athletico defenders collided in front of him as he made a move for the ball...they were so nervous they both went for the same ball, collided and fell over, and he took the ball. Afterwards the cameraman showed him shaking his head in disbelief. I think that guy just sends fear down any defender's spine.Koscielny and Squillaci better be at their best in a couple of weeks.

Rosicky mentioned. Don't ask for a link - classified for now.

Sample this conversation between Ronaldo and Walter Pandiani after Real Madrid lost to Osasuna

Ronaldo (in a derogatory tone): How much did you earn last year?
Pandiani: The same as the number of medals you've won since joining Real. Zero! Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

Pepe Reina last night sensationally opened the door to a £20million summer move to Manchester United. Liverpool keeper Reina stunned the Kop by refusing to rule out a move to Old Trafford in the close season. With Edwin van der Sar hanging up his gloves, speculation has been rife that United boss Alex Ferguson will try to snatch the stopper by paying the £20m get-out clause in his contract.

Asked directly about United's interest on Spanish radio station Onda Cero, Reina dropped a massive hint that it could happen. He said: "Yes, well Van der Sar will hang up his gloves in the summer so of course they are looking. I can't do anything. I can't say anything logically as I have a contract with Liverpool. Of course one likes to fight for titles and be in a team that does that. We always fought to be in the Champions League and try to win the title. But unfortunately it hasn't been the case in the last couple of years."

Reina also refused to rule out quitting Anfield if Liverpool finish outside the top four. He said: "I won't lie, I want to play in the Champions League and challenge for titles."

@ MANUTD FANS; We lost the game fare and square lets leave it at that no matter how painfull it was.

@ TAZ; Even though the penalties are disputable, what did Arsenal do in the 2nd half? Newcastle were camped on your side for most of that half. No matter what you say, for a team of Arsenal's calibre to let go a 4-0 lead is not excusable in any way.

@ McReggae; I hope that move happens but after the way SAF treated Liverpool when they wanted Heinze....

Buster....are you really sure you would want Reina to succeed Van Der Sar? The guy has been conceding some really weird goals this season for L'fools and also performed poorly for Spain when had the chance, he's not the same keeper he was 2 seasons ago. Right now the keepers to sign are Maarten Stekelenburg and Hugo Lloris....wish Wenger would sign any of this two but we all know that will never happen.

TAZ, I agree He is not the same as He used to be, but remember a Keeper is just as good as his defence and for me its the Liverpool defence thats letting him down. He goes to a team thats seriously challeging for something and with a good defence and his attited changes..

".....But United surely want someone with a bit more about them. Someone with experience, someone who has played under intense pressure, someone who knows English football, someone of international quality.

Step forward one Pepe Reina. The Liverpool goalkeeper is known to be restless, a situation unlikely to change with the Champions League places a distant dream.

He is a great age (28, the same as Kuszczak), has been a pillar of consistency despite the club's tragic-comic decline, and he even lives in the right part of the country for United. He is a lively character who would likely be unfazed by the hostility of swapping one shade of red for a slightly different one....."

at 28, he's ripe. Maarten, Hugo, Neuer are also good. We need to make sure we dont do a Barthez, Bosnich, Roy Caroll, Massimo Taibi, Ricardo Lopez, Van Der Gouw again. We need serious keepers.

How Much More Unlikable Can Arsenal Get?

http://www.whoateallthep...le-can-arsenal-get.html

....As captain, Fabregas sets the tone of the team. On the pitch, he has as much influence as the manager, and off it, he’s the role model, showing what behaviour is appropriate and tolerated. It’s been Wenger’s biggest mistake. Fabregas carries on as if butter wouldn’t melt and yet he’s still handy in a fight. If only this were true. A fantastic midfielder, his failings are still legion. One, he flirts openly with Barcelona as if it’s his right. Two, he abuses referees and questions their integrity on Twitter and in the tunnel. Three, he criticises his own team-mates on the pitch, like Thierry Henry without the hat-tricks. What captaincy. Maybe his attitude will change when he’s at Barcelona. On the bench.......

.....that article made my morning!!!!

Qualities of a good captain, that's why i still have so much respect for someone like Roy Keane, he was never shy of speaking his mind and had the guts to stand up to SAF.
