The 91-day T-Bill is at 20.64% !!

The financial analysts, @Hisa, @Mnandii, kindly explain in a lay man's language what that means for the money markets.

Another question:
For the non-competitive bids, does your return vary with the daily rates or your rate is fixed at what was prevailing at date of buying?

Wanjiku gets the non-competitive rate.When filling the TB application form,she will state non-competitive since she does not know how to arrive at a competitive rate for each auction..

It means liquidity meltdown is rife! The money market is sucking out a lot of liquidity from the system. In short it means cash is becoming scarce.
$15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

What does this really mean? CBK wants 4B but accepts 12B three times what they wanted. Why not just ask for 12B in the first place?

It would create panic. Silently absorb it, they know oversubscription is obvious.
