Temebea kenya.Nbo is small.
Depart: Nbo
Arr: Khwisero

Stopovers: 6

nkr-eld-kaps-jeptulu-chavachava-bushiangala.

Watch out for heavy trucks, madeemoni and craters along highway.
Enjoy cool luhya tea as you approach maragoli land.
There's this soko for dogs.Tourist site.Pray buy one simba for your house.
You can use burnt forest, tokelezea kericho and enjoy the tea view.Awsome.
That would mean approaching western via kisumu so enjoy the omena being hawked, just assume they are cashewnuts.
When you arrive at Bushiangala, say bye bye to civilization and pray that you arrive in piece not pieces.
Keep the windows open cz a lone cane chewing monkey could provide company.
Last time I was around there, there was only one hotel serving tea and mandazis only.Forget chips and what not.Huko ni sugarcane so enjoy.

The other delicacy was something called 'mfunga tai. It's a long ndao twisted like rope.

And say hi to wamarama.

Safe trip.

Done the machakos-wote route today. my observations:-
Very scenic route. the hills on the sides, the konza view area where you see konza from high up and definately the twista and turns before kikima junction (utangwa?). That road is pure adrenaline. Small shopping centres in between but wote is a reasonably big town with pretty good accommodation for those who want to spend.
Theo road is bad as one leaves machakos. Average speed of about 40 kph for about 10 km until one gets to katumani KARI research centre. It improves but there are potholes here and there though filled with soil. Average speed of about 80kph and much slower on the bends. Towards WOTE town the potholes are not all covered so caution must be taken. Plan for 2.5 hours from nai in order to absorb the scenery.
There is the junction just before wote that leads to emali but according to the locals the road is not good. otherwise it a nice outing for a sunday. though it definately will take the whole day to and fro. Enjoy.

This reminds of a time I met this girl at the pub. After I bought her some beers and wanted to leave and she begged me to buy her 1kg of goat meat to take to her kid, which I did.

Looking for scenic routes within the Nairobi Metropolis for a road trip. Any ideas.

Nairobi to Thika through Kiambu farms. Thika - Gatanga - Gatura - Kiarutara - Gakoe - Flyover - Naivasha - Mai Mahiu - Limuru - Tigoni - Village Market and back to Nairobi. I took some visitors from Botswana and US through the same route and they were very excited. Being a true Kenyan, I never thought it could be exciting. Apart from Naivasha and Mai Mahiu, I believe the rest of the area falls under Nairobi Metropolitan ministry.

This is good. Thanks. What about upande wa Machakos, Kajiado?

Climb up the Iveti Hills from Kangundo road, then meander thru the hills and then descend using the forest road to Machakos town. Nice view there of Machakos from the top of the hill ...
