Healthy stocks just dnt rally in a straight line. I think its wise to take some profits if you have them before they vanish .

But its hard to sell right?

What is causing this share to rally so hard? it very intersting, its headed to 13.00 now demand at 12.35

uchumi has very few fans on wazua imagine if it was KK rallying from 6.50 to 12 but anyway pesa ni pesa my capital gains is around 0.5m on this one. The rally is caused by the small float only 265m shares mostly held by suppliers who are keen to increase and hold their stake. GoK is also keeping everyone guessing on whether it will sell its stake to a suitor plus hints from the CEO on many interested buyers. Total of 5 branches in UG soon with oil production soon to start retail is the first sector to gain. Remember in 2007 when kenyan economy grew by 7% retail sector turnover more than doubled. Nakumatt turnover when from 8b to 20b http://allafrica.com/stories/200705300057.html
If that repeats again very soon then with the most efficient chain the figures look really good. My two cents on this share is hold and hold so long as it continues to be well run

QW, Massmart holdings the south africa retailer has P/E of 34
Pick n Pay stores has a P/E of 32. Going with that uchumi could very well go upto 30/= (market value of 7.9 billion). My advise above still stands hold and hold.

This thing has rallied like all the other retail chains are going bankrupt. Is that Tuskys case that bad?

No harvesting.. Just hang in there. Demand is still very strong for the share. Many profit takers have exited (price pauses at 9, 12, 14.5, 16 shs), but the strong demand has made their exit inconsequential. trailing PE is still about 12, and is expected to announce very good results. Its criminal for a fundamentally-driven investor not to hold this share!

Parabolic rallies are very dangerous and show an exaustion of the rally.
Uchumi has definatly done a parabolic rally.
Even with strong fundermentals stocks do do parabolic rallies and they come crushing down. And is somebody noting the decrease in vol . ?

Wololo! At 19.75, it's up 200 percent!

I think CMA should consider calling in the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) to test Uchumi for banned substances as the stock is rallying as if it's on drugs!

At this point, I dare say that someone has news that has not yet reached the market.

Uchumi has been a fertile ground for insider trading. TIME WILL TELL!

i don't mean to burst your bubble but my charts NEVER lie . i called for some retracement on the stock and its dong just that .stocks don't just rally in a straight line . its unheard of.
My target is 14.00 and i wait to see what happens at that level !
