What is with KCB and Equity? Zinapelekana unyo unyo! Both 20-21/- by friday, whose with me on this?

One cant compare kcb to equity.. KCB will demonstrate that it is a much greater bank coming out of hibernation

Shame on you Shame on you That's not a well thought out statement my friend.Shame on you Shame on you

@merchant
KCB has began to manage its 330 billion worth of assets more efficiently and when this is complete equity bank will be no match for it with its paltry 200 billion worth of assets..

Does that sound more thought out to you now??

Makes sense but that assumes that Equity does not continue to grow. Equity is very well managed and they are increasing their presence in the market....I would still rate it a high growth stock.

Ok...both these banks know how to make & grow their bread. The only options here is who is already efficient (EQUITY) or who is solving the efficiency problem (KCB Group). Thereafter, its a choice of where to put your money and dropping the tag Contrarian whilst truly being a Conformist smile

or buy both, thats my plan. You can't go wrong with both. Its the ripe time to start the age old discussion of who will be most profitable.

And the profit takers are diminishing very fast.

That can't happen unless you tell me, one of this days I will be served by robots at KCB smile

@the deal never say never... KCB projects a cost to income ratio of 55% by 2013 and an asset base of 450 billion by 2014 and going with a target ROA of 6% PBT could hit 27 billion by 2014...

I will give them the benefit of the doubt on these ambitious target.. I think You know the age old saying "reach for the stars and land in the clouds" smile

In research notes released last month, Renaissance Capital and Citigroup recommended a “buy”’ on KCB share
Renaissance Capital said the bank would benefit from the implementation of its new management structure, new executive directors and regional strategy, forecasting a target price of Sh24.6.

“We initiate on KCB with a “buy” because of its regional diversification and valuation. In our estimates, KCB is trading at a significant discount to our estimate of its fair value,” said Citigroup in their research note.

Funding big projects like power,receiving rights funds for other firms,agency banking and gvt instruments will cushion kcb from the assumed high loan default rate.
