@Kingfisher and willin2learn

I have no problem with a great argument for or against any topic. In fact, there have been some arguments for or against that looked interesting.

It is not those who are against that I am calling idiots. I will love you all the more for voting against it if you believe that it won't serve you and your family.

However, I will call you an idiot if the only arguments you have are:

1. Muslims will take over Kenya,
2. Women will carry out abortions in the toilets,
3. God will punish Kenyans
4. If you don't listen to wanjiru or Lai, you will burn in hell like all the babies.

and all the crap that these madmen are spewing

Give me a logical argument then I will not consider you an idiot.

@nonfor1....what is the measure for "a logical argument"? Maybe that is what I and @willin2learn are missing!! And probably many more others.

Well, as it ever occurred to you that your argument could actually be "the most illogical" to "us" and hence the problem??
When I have money, I get rid of it quickly, lest it find a way into my heart.

the Clergy has done its part, it has alerted you of potential dangers in the draft.
Article 26(4) of the new draft now says: "Abortion is not permitted unless, in the opinion of a trained <health professional>, there is need for emergency treatment, or the life or <health> of the mother is in danger, or <if permitted by any other written law>."
Am I the only person who is seeing this? <health professional>= is too wide a net from nurses, clinical officers,doctors, gynas, surgeons ; <health> is defined by the WHO to which we are a signatory to as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity" as .
<if permitted by any other written law>= ....what is this?
P.S. remember making a change to the above will require a referendum...its in the bill of rights.
the argument that parliament cannot change the course of the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Act, 2008 is flawed since they can...they are parliament.
for Kadhis courts those of you who are to naive to know that it was limited to the 10 mile strip of the coast of kenya. but now for 'administrative' purposes it has been extended to the whole of kenya.
Kwanza...Were the people consulted when the Sultan of Zanzibar and those other British fellows decided about this matter?

P.S the church has not been used by any POLITICIAN, the Church esp. the Evangelicals have had issues with this from the beginning, the CoE ignored them, parliament ignored them.
anyone blaming the 1st estate on their role to advice is trully mistaken.

Masukuma,
Abortion is illegal and dealt with in the penal act Cap 63 - Penal Act
158. Any person (and this includes a trained health
professional
)who , with intent to procure miscarriage of a woman, whether she is or is not with child, unlawfully administers to her or causes her to take any poison or other noxious thing, or uses any force of any kind, or uses any other means whatever, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years.

The draft constitution Just reinforce the fact that abortion is illegal... by stating that Article 26(4)"Abortion is not permitted.....''

There is no permitted law that authorises abortion as at today....if any legislator wishes to bring such a legislation ...I'm sure all kenyans of goodwill will reject it ..Lets pass this draft and face any person who tries to legalise abortion in future....

Everybody knows why Moi is saying 'NO'.....'GRABBED LAND' period

Moi and all the like who acquired huge chunks of land, ripped this country off, know that with the new consititution things will not go there way, let us all support this document and put all of them to shame, they have made poor kenyans poorer

@Fundaah,
Isn't it funny then,how some "good" citizens (I have MO1 in point) are seeing abortion where there is none??......or is it a case of see trees for a forest?

Fundaah, Njung'e, in the draft ABORTION IS PERMITTED! Who are you fooling?

Please see what Masukuma quoted FROM THE DRAFT:
"Abortion is not permitted unless, in the opinion of a trained health professional, there is need for emergency treatment, or the life or health of the mother is in danger, or if permitted by any other written law."

The problem the church has is not with the GENERAL statement that abortion is not permitted but with the EXCEPTIONS that are quite broad as to amount to a watering down of the general statement and rendering it irrelevant.
