Ali salimanga was notorious for keeping listeners hanging on whether a goal had been scored during radio football broadcasts repeating MSIKILIZAJI 20 times before letting us know if there was a score.
Also reading the salaams on idhaa ya taifa with shabiks like Lama bin Lama, Sura mbaya kiango Momanyi.
Okay I have stopped.

5. Charles Omuga Kabisae*

Omuga kabisae sounded like one tired fella.Muthoni Bwika ni presenter wa juzi

Jack Oyoo Silvester!!!!

Jack Oyoo Silvester was my favourite. This is how he would describe Henry Motego running" Henry Motego, ambaye anajulikana kama ndovu kwa wenzake, anakimbia kama kiberenge juu ya reli.."

The retired Leonard Mambo Mbotela's Je, huu ni ungwana? is one of my all-time favorites...a true Kenyan masterpiece from a legendary journalist.
These old timers were journalists, trained and with all the ethics and standards, not the motor-mouth socialists and dilettantes who exploit our morbid fascination with sex and extra-marital affairs and fashion all that dog's breakfast as journalism. End of rant.
Coming a close second was the lunchtime and sundowner music programs. I forget the presenters, but it was always top-notch jazz, country and other soothing tunes.
Maaaan, we have lost a lot.

Mid day melodies , mhhh who can forget the early morning in the mood music program. I particularly enjoyed the radio theater pieces on Sundays.

Ali Salimanga would describe one´s complexion like".. jamaa huyu, mwenye ngozi ya rangi ya maji ya kunde..." and Oyoo Silvester would describe a Football like this" Ngozi ya Ngómbe iliyowambwa na kufanywa mpira..."

he used to end the show in style! damn I miss those days as a little young boy. John Karani was another great, some show around 4pm, Fred Obachi Machokaa and his Music Time. There was another guy too who had a great Hip Hop show in the afternoons on Metro FM lol...Station had just launched. I can't recall his name but the background beat to his show was EPMD's "Da Joint".

Greg Murrey (sp) was the name. Metro FM, Monday to Friday, 11am to 2pm. Dude was a legend. Wonder where he is nowadays. Tony Msalame presented Lingala in Metro FM from 10am to 11am weekdays as well.

4pm to 5.30pm (sometimes 6pm) on KBC was The Beat Time. My favorite on this was Eric Ndeche.

John Karani on SNS, YFTA (Sunday edition) as well as that show that used to air on a certain weekday morning (he co-presented with Peninah Karibe). He went to Kiss FM Tz, then left sometime around 2015 or 2016.
Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

I the most emotional football commentary moment in Kenya was when Leornard Mambo screamed..Maridadi,Maridadi like ten times when Ambrose Ayoyi scored a super goal from a JJ Masiga assist against Malawi .

Depends on an individual's like ..... i enjoy Gor games, not so much Harambee stars. In any case Harambee beat Malawi only after switching of the floodlights the previous day when Solomon Malunga, Banda, Phiri & co were harassing Harambee Starts to the end. I really liked that Malawi team .... very cute brothers Drool

Of course the second best to me is CECAFA Club Cup Gor vs AFC in Khartoum, Sudan 1985.... Obwaka smile !!!!!! Gor had Coach and 6 players suspended by CAF but still won nicely!!!!

eeish Angie, how old are you? You can School even the likes of Okumbi in matters Football. I met Okumbi and the director of Football in Kenya and i was telling them abou the stories of the likes of Motego,Onyiera, Otieno Zico and they told me they have never heard of such Players. Maybe Angellica -Ann should be the director of Football in kenya ;)

They were lying to you. I've sen Okumbi and Motego chatting together once before.
