That is how to inherit the eternal life.

OK so now copy pasting is the in thing!Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

Bible is available kwa net. Even Qur'an.

So why does v 18-20 not end the story. If keeping the commands was all required, why did Jesus not commend the man?

In Context:

Quote:
The Rich and the Kingdom of God
18 A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

19 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 20 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’[a]”

21 “All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said.

22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

23 When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy. 24 Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! 25 Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

26 Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”

27 Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

28 Peter said to him, “We have left all we had to follow you!”

29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age, and in the age to come eternal life.”

Paul said that the law was obsolete and weak in Hebrews 7:18-19, 8:13!!!!!

Contrary to what Jesus himself said!!! Contrary to what the law itself says in Psalm 19:7 which says that "the Law is perfect".

Follow Paul at your risk Laughing out loudly

Religion corrupts.

Skin or lack of it is no ticket to heaven. What is good for the body may not be good for the soul so circumcise your souls first. The rest is your choice.

@lonest, you talk of what you don't know. You demonstrate ignorance of Islam every time you talk. And you are full of malice and hatred. See the below words of the prophet Muhammad s.a.w

It was narrated Abu Huraira that the Prophet said "Five things are in accordance with Al Fitra (i.e. the tradition of prophets including Abrhama, Moses, David, Jesus etc): to be circumcised, to shave the pelvic region, to pull out the hair of the armpits, to cut short the moustaches, and to clip the nails.' (Al-Bukhari Volume 8: Book 74: Hadith 312)

It was narrated by Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Abraham did his circumcision with an adze at the age of eighty." (Al-Bukhari : Volume 4 : Book 55 : Hadith 575)

@kysse, the uncircumcised pilots, upon landing, park too quickly or let passengers disembark too soon before the plane leave the runway. The leave the airport or the air traffic controllers exasperated.

Why? Because it is too sensitive. Because it is covered in its sheath continuously. And if he is not faithful, the sheath carries remains from the previous woman i.e. easily transmitting disease.

Bottom line: it is better to circumcise the man.

That is why we circumcise our boys when infants as was narrated by Abdullah Ibn Jabir (r.a.) and Aisha (r.a.) in Hadith that: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) performed the Aqiqah of al-Hasan and al-Hussein (the prophets grandsons) and circumcised them on the 7th. day."

@lonest, good question.

Circumcision is not compulsory in Islam. It is optional. If the new reverts do not want, it does not make them less of successful in this world or next life.

Circumcision in Islam is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for health and hygienic reasons, as I already stated here

In Kikuyu language, KIHII is not derogatory. It is used to imply an uncut male (especially beyond 13 years of age). That is actually their title or part of it. It is what they are. Just like we have other titles like Hon, Mr, HE, Ms, Miss, we do also have the title KIHII. It is calling a goat, a goat.

If the uncut male is just a young boy, we call them KAHII..(small boy)Interchanging the two is funny but not derogatory...lol.
Imagining calling a 30 something years old uncut kikuyu man, Kahii - small boy? heh. That will be 'a funny sounding insult"

KIHII (IHII) is also used officially to imply "sons of". Actually, irrespective of your age, your father will introduce you as "IHII ciakwa" or "KIHII giakwa" to his agemates. The wives, the girls, the cows and the goats will be grouped together and introduced as "indo ciakwa".

And when we refers to a group of small boys (tuhii) as IHII, it is usually not derogatory. It no big deal. The word is also used to denote a behaviour characterised by restlessness; insatiable appetite for food in public events; a baboon-ic behaviour (all over) (ta nugu kana theru); disruptive, cunny and annoying behaviour. They always behave like small baboons, very disorderly, disruptive and annoying. They dont mind be called that especially in public functions where there is scramble for food.

But we also use the word KIHII to officially refer to a grown up man, cut or uncut, who behaves like a boy!! That is also not derogatory, it is their very befitting title. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. The duck test!!

The kalenjins seems to have a similar problem. They must have copied from the People of the Mountain.

By the way, when someone says "wina waana", uko na ubaby, that person will have dragged you down the "uhii highway and left you at "waana avenue". He implies that, you are not just a boy but a toddler in diapers. From being Boyish to being Baby-ish.
We have no time to baby-sit grown up men.
Andu matige ubaby; andu matige Uhii....

@mavegs, of course God always Knows better. God in all His wisdom created all children not knowing anything, but we teach a child to read and write. Would that not be unwise according to your reasoning?

You and me are born illiterate and we would have remained that way if we were not educated on how to read and write. Those millions of people who never learn to read or write, by your definition should remain like that to demonistrate "the wisdom of creator", right?

2 points...
1) I don't speak for God - I personally don't think he had anything to do with the pratice
2) the comparison made is one similar to comparing apples to oranges.... while reading/literacy is an improvement on the human for and we can see tangible benefits of what it can do to humans, you struggle to show the benefits of circumcision over and above the dubious benefit of "not smelling your hands" after using the john!

1. If you don't speak for God, then don't question God.

2. About comparison, I had to give you equality dumb analogy to your question. You see, there are so many things we "modify" in our bodies. Just as illiteracy is the natural form, why would God create it? Similarly, how about cutting hair or nails? Using your logic, may be they were meant to be grown long as it is "natural form", right?
