Money imight not a be a good meausure of success but it sure does make success easy to achieve.

Consider even for Mother Teresa, its the mkwanja(money) from Vatican, donors etc that helped to expand her mission outside of Calcutta which eventually gave her success.

short story...

one day we were in a club meeting (i.e. you know rotary, lions, AISEC etc)and we had a talk on financial planning

the average age of guys at the meeting was 28 years old

as the talk progressed we realised the discomfort among different people there, the segments were almost as follows

almost all the guys who drove subarus were staying with their parents in various city areas

a number of the guys who drove average cars were staying in areas multiple unit settlements (read flats).. none owned any real estate

only two ladies were driving then though the club ratio was 50:50, there wasn't a great disparity in jobs between the males and females in the club..

all of the girls were paid in up in club dues.. the same may not be said for guys

the girls never appeared to pay for any drink in what we used to call a swallowship (essentially a beer drinking spree after the meeting)

as one the guys driving the average cars in the club (partly sponsored by the company i worked at).. i used to attract some girls... though all anticipation of a blissful 'life ever after' used to fizzle immediately they saw my 14 inch i had bought in my college days.. most of them never called after seeing the tv..

needless to say.. most of those girls are in relationships or married with other people outside.. all those drinks we paid for.. and the rides home counted for nothing

But nowadays, Gari is a neccesity bana. Though I do not support the thesis that if u don have a car at a certain age, you are a failure!!

People tend to forget that.

If you are 35 and cannot afford to buy a vitz without taking a loan, you are not necessarily a failure as you still have time on your side; but you are not doing that well either.
