Rank: Elder Joined: 9/25/2009 Posts: 4,534 Location: Windhoek/Nairobbery		@murchr Tz is close to SADC than EAC because of history...Tz played a crucial role in the fight against arpatheid...so when most of those SADC countries got liberated they had no option but to embrace Tz while the same cant be said of Kenya...Kenya used to trade with the arpatheid regime because of fear of sanctions from the west who supported the arpatheid regime at the time....thats why you see relations between SADC & Kenya are not good e.g the Namibian Gava has no embassy in .Ke but has one in Tz.

Rank: New-farer Joined: 2/20/2013 Posts: 47		Mjinga akierevuka mwerevu huwa mashakani I have been in Dar for 6 months and i can tell you all they need is to wake up Literacy levels and educational standards are quite low.If only they would change their official language to English and allow kenyan teachers to lift their education standards the Kagame way,they would be sure to overtake Kenya sooner rather than later With all their mineral wealth (natural gas,uranium)and nearly 100% arable land its not a matter of if but when they do so. Culture has to change largely including tendency to laziness.You can imagine going to the shop and the milk available is Tanga fresh(the only local n horrible brand i have seen!),Brookside,Tuzo and a few south African Brands.You wonder what the arable land and plenty of rainfall is for! You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it fearlessly.

But they arent. Someone pointed out that this is one of the reasons we should be greatful to Jomo. He made us capitalists. This has had negative effects too like enequality and poor social fabric but on overall economy it's a plus.

Yes that one Landrover that mzee gave was a very big thing. It did go a long way in liberating Namibia dont joke. I remember very well, when Namibia got its independence Kenya was a very willing partner infact so many Namibians came here for treatment. Infact, Kenyans don't need visas to go to Namibia and Namibia trades more with Kenya than Kenya does. By the way, they sold their milk plant their "KCC" to brookside, which they closed down because running a milk plant there now is not commercialy viable because there are no farmers who graze. What about DRC? I think the real giant in Africa is DRC.
