The person(murchr) recommending I&M hata hajajaribu. He uses his US account.Doesn't that ring a bell? Just try though.

When Nation says that you can withdraw from paypal to your Hela card, I guess this only applies to Kenyans living in those countries where it is possible to withdraw money to a card (as per paypal terms). Of course Kenya is excluded here because in any case, the service is targeted to People living outside Kenya. But the Nation is not telling us that it is still not possible to do this if you are in any other country in the world where paypal does not allow you to do this. Is Nation assuming that all Kenyans in the diaspora live only in countries where one is allowed to withdraw to their cards by paypal?

Thanks Alma, Essyk and Murchur for the good discussion. Murchur, I had no idea about this I&M facility. Heading there tomorrow morning to get the details. I will thank you a million if it is true.

From my understanding and to try to bring more clarity on this issue......Nation are saying the truth but are doing a lot of injustice for not bringing in more clarity.

1. When Nation says that you can withdraw from paypal to your Hela card, I guess this only applies to Kenyans living in those countries where it is possible to withdraw money to a card (as per paypal terms). Of course Kenya is excluded here because in any case, the service is targeted to People living outside Kenya. 2. For Kenyans living in Kenya and interested in e-commerce, the only way you can withdraw from your paypal is to a USA bank account. Searching from the internet, there are so many agents who promise to help people to open a USA bank account even if you are not a US resident. But you never know if you will deal with the right people. If I&M bank can help one to do that, then bingo, we have a Kenya solution to this headache.

Please dont fall for the temptation you will get ripped off by Nigerians and Jamaicans. They even pay people to write reviews on their web pages.

Thanks Murchr for this. I have always been hesitant to try this. But one more clarification, you mean I&M will help me to open a USA bank account? I do not seem to find that information on their website.

NO....I went there just after relocating and asked them if they offer international services, they said yes, they have an international acc...when i asked them if i can withdraw from paypal the lady said yes.. as long as i open an online account...which i did but never bothered to change the ac i gave paypal. So just go and confirm.

I & M bank have POA PAY as their client.
Its a money transfer service just like PAYPAL
http://www.imbank.com/KE...r.asp?cat=Our%20Clients

From what I see it's a local version of Paypal cz all u need is an email address and pw to send money.

https://www.poapay.com/i...cfm?fuseaction=about_us

Quote:
Kenya-based PoaPay.com is a licensed trademark of DTP L.L.C., a Birmingham, AL company dedicated to providing a secure, quick, cost-effective and easy way to remit money abroad.

You can charge the amount you would like to send to your credit or debit card or deduct the money directly from your bank account.

I have a feeling that is what the I & M lady was referring to.

Let us not play around with people's lives and money here.

You cannot withdraw from paypal with any sort of card, including the hell card if you are from Kenya.

That is not being said by Nation and it took murchr well over 3 pages of posts to accept.

I&M Bank or any other bank in Kenya cannot help you get money from you Paypal. Infact, I know they have no idea what Paypal is.

If you try to open a US bank account when in Kenya, the chances of being conned are 98%. Please understand that banking rules changed after 9/11. It is not as easy as you may think. My advice is forget about it.

PayPal is not KCB, I&M or Nation

This is very important to understand. Paypal operates with its own crazy rules. It is a payment processor in the US, a bank in Europe and its own entity in China.

So unless, I see PayPal sitting in the same table as Nation and saying they are allowing it, then Nation is peddling a half truth and someone probably got the card with the mistaken notion that it will work.

Shame on them.

If they can start a business with such a blatant attempt at misleading, with a half truth, what else are they not saying?

Lastly and Most Important

Be careful what someone markets online especially if you are planning on keeping your Paypal account.

Do not market it as a payment processor. For example, withdraw money from PayPal to another Payment processor eg the one that was being peddled here as being able to withdraw funds to Kenya.

It is against PayPal terms and conditions to move money from one payment processor to another. So whoever is marketing such should be very careful how they do it. Hela should not sound like a payment processor and I mean sound. Go online and type the words Paypal locked my account, paypal sucks , you will get to know what type of company you are dealing with.

Murchr, for example is running the danger of his account being locked when he opens his US account in Kenya. If you don't believe me Murchr, just be patient, you will learn. that is if you have such an account as your statements reek of someone who doesn't know what Paypal is.

Otherwise, one day, you will wake up and find PayPal having locked your account for a long long time.

If you are planning to use PayPal in your business, learn to be honest and straight. Withdraw your money using a US bank which Payoneer can help you with.

That is the only true and honest solution for Paypal for Kenyans.

I managed to withdraw (made a payment)from Paypal using Nationhela via 3GDIRECTPAY.COM.

3gDirectpay redirected me to paypal where I "made a payment" to them and my money was deposited in my nationhela account.

I tested with 5 dollars which the bank, DTB, sold me at 81.06 = KSH 408.

3GDIRECTPAY, an Israeli company, is offering a service just like any other online service provider. One way they receive payment is via Paypal.

For me it worked and I will be using it. Nowhere has PayPal indicated in their terms of service that one should not use service providers like 3G.

I've learnt they have an API which integrates Mpesa and Airtel money besides other payment systems.

Next step - applying to deal directly with them. Sorry Nationhela.com. I didn't mean to leave you so early in our relationship but I'll keep your card.

3GDirectpay is not an underground service provider.
I'm happy I can now collect payment via MPESA and be charged reasonably, unlike some providers, whom I won't name who have been charging very high commissions for transactions via their APIs.
