Came to kenya a few years ago from UK an needed to have some kind'a document from a lawyer indicating that i've never been married before. I think its called an affidavit i'm not sure. All i could do is ask a someone and he checked around within minutes he called me back saying its going to cost 10,000ksh. Well it worked to be arround 90pounds,didnt mind i did pay and i got the same afternoon all he needed was a copy of my passport. I wasnt bothered but when i told my dad about it,he told me he thought everyone should be a lawyer,in other words i was swindled in broad daylight. I cared less cause i got what i wanted. But again i just learnt some lawyers are charge way too much and someone did tell me that chances are the guy that i did ask in the first place did get a cut of it,that is what pissed me off completely. Cause after i gave him the cash for the lawyer when he brought me the document,i gave him another 4000 just to say thanks. Some people are out there to take advantage of people who know nothing about stuff cause i never knew of such thing as affidavit until i wanted to get married thats when i heard of it. Thats gone now
