@VVS, You could not have put it better. BTW, out of curiousity, what proportion of your portfolio is in KK? You can of course tell me that's none of my business....

Bull or Bear... I am very happy with my KK... I would be even happier if the price fell coz I wanna pick up more!

As most Wazuans know I support KK as a firm [I think the management is very good] & the current valuations [vs potential profits] is very reasonable even in this environment.

With the ERC setting prices, it seems KK is even better off than many other OMCs.

- OilLibya will face financial problems seeing what is happening in Libya. I doubt the management care anymore.

- Shell is being sold to Vitol/Helios which means changes on the way.
- Total is doing OK now that they have somewhat digested the Chevron acquisition.
- NOCK is a mess. I just hope that they take a huge hit on the recent diesel scam. I would like to see the corrupt MoE folks go.

The best part is the REGIONAL expansion.. That is where growth & profits lie...

@VVS, Total is not doing okay, things are thick in this environment the setting of prices coupled with the loan they used to fund the chevron acquisition. NOCK is even in a better position in my opinion, even if they mess it can always go back to GoK for funding as a "strategic parastatal". KK will still take a hit on the kenyan front despite rosy comments from the MD they still have significant operations in Kenya

NOCK - Sad but true. Note, I said I hope it fail not that it will since NOCK has taxpayer cash + godfathers in MoE.

Total - Since it is only in Kenya, it can hurt but 2010 seemed a turning point for them.

KK - Yes, Kenya remains a sore spot for KK but with high oil (& fuel) prices, KK cannot be blamed. Some stupid MPs, MoE, NOCK, etc are trying to blame OMCs but it is failing. Regional expansion is key. I trust KK's management so short of catastrophe, it will be OK...
