Knee-jerk reaction. The Boeing engineers are obviously looking into the issue

Same manufacturer of the 787's, has staff who have raised issues with the planes, no evidence if they were sorted out or just transferred to new plane models like the 737-800 MAX.

It's actually good to read the sensible stuff that's out there.

To the best of my knowledge, the 787, which has been in service much longer, has not faced the issues the 737-800 MAX has given it is a DIFFERENT plane with DIFFERENT engines.

Yes, they may share technology and platforms but they are different planes.

Two quick ones.
1. Government says they might look to buy back KQ and make it majority government owned shares-wise, KAA is government owned through and through. What would happen if KAA 'decided' to own shares in KQ, then give them 'preferential' treatment at all KAA airports (Read JKIA, MIA) KQ flies to, would this serve the same purpose as the proposed SPV KQ is targetting with KAA on JKIA (maybe MIA), in return for KQ making JKIA their hub (though KQ have no option on this)?
2. Why hasnt KQ gone out to revive/start cargo? most routes within the continent rely on cargo going out to European airports before it is flown back to the continent, that would be a fabulous starting point for them to commence and grow their cargo wing. Most airlines the would over sometimes rely on the cargo business to keep them going when the going gets tough, why not KQ?

alot is going on behind the curtain, kq will be allowed to run KAA as per government wish but whether government will buy other shareholders is another story bearing in mind the financial position of government, but if they are writting off sugar companies debts to a tune of 86 billion what about strategic asset like kq

KQ debts can't be written off. They are loans to private comapnies.GoK can only take them over and lump it to the public debt.

GoK debt on the KQ books is the largest portion.. They only chose to remain at 48% shareholding, but they could have restructured upto 74% if that was their intent

Simple.
Danderheadism. That's way red tape and shafting is so ripe here. If capital restructuring is rocket science to date whatelse do you expect inside here.
Kenya is a major horticultural produce exporter, but allqueer is yet to figure out what that means.
Everyone else is comfortable shafting allqueer and the wanjiku isn't perplexed.

The KAA-KQ JKIA SPV will proceed as the house stands united under handshake.. The fact that tangatanga team have brought up PORK in the mentions will make it a do or die considering a full cabinet resolution was effected on the same.. Meanwhile remember KQ A is worth KES 8.52 while KQ B for minority shareholders is worth KES 21.5.. Until the Open Offer happens to create equilibrium, we will keep staring at a hung share

Unlikely. Remember that there is the Mandatory Convert plus GoK guarantee for all future lending to KQ. It will benefit a bank more to remain as a shareholder

The bankers benefit more by getting their money right now than being shareholders.
Banks are not in the business of owning shares in airlines
KQ problems also come about from it's structural inefficiencies
