When you fly into a mountain at about 300kph, you can't survive. From the video it seems like the plane would have gone over the mountain if it was 50m higher in altitude. Problem is that it could have been flying through clouds and thus couldn't see terrain ahead. Though arent aircraft supposed to have instruments that warn about terrain ahead?

@hardwood, I thought the pilot should have automatically known the correct altitude she should have been at? Is the navigation in this plane model manual? (I'm not implying anything, just ignorant in these matter).

Only the black box or voice recorder will tell us what really happened, hoping the plane had one.

May they Rest In Peace.

The rescue mission was unacceptably slow. Even if there were survivors, they couldn't have lasted the 40 hours of pain and numbing cold.

Shithole country!!

How were they to spot the plane while the peaks were covered by clouds?

Am not sure how, but whatever technologies they could get. Use drones with night vision or metal detectors or whatever could accelerate the process.

If the same crash happened in another country, do you think it would have taken 40 hours? Even motorbikes have trackers nowadays.

All I want, if ever am in a plane and it crashes, I should be found in the shortest time possible, dead or alive.

I do not understand how small minded our media fellas are. They show no respect to the bereaved families. Capitalfm covered the wailing of relatives as a news item airing the recordings.

It's not the media. That's how our society is.

BBI will solve it

I don't think it is the society. Someone had to ask in public for respect to be shown. I remember when a KQ plane clashed in Cote de Voire, a cameraman was busy chasing a wailing relative and there was an outcry about the incident. Surely the media has a role to play on decorum. The editors should be ashamed.

The instruments should have alerted her on terrain proximity. Either equipment wasn't working or the attempt to fly higher failed. We need a serious investigation.

Sad. They died doing what they loved best. Aparently on the fateful day they had flown to maasai mara, Homa Bay, and then to Kitale. Such a big loss.

Meanwhile...

Quote:
Three Kenya Red Cross staff are fighting for their lives in hospital after their vehicle crashed head-on with a lorry on their way to Njambini, Kinangop, to help with the search of the missing Fly Sax plane in the Aberdares.

Wish them quick recovery.
