The news has excited the share price today

Unnecessary excitement...i highly doubt KENGEN will pay dividend in respect to FY 2018/19...They havent been paid a sinGle cent for their olkaria V 158MW plant since commissioning last october....

2018/2019 or did you mean 2019/2020

The Accounts waiting AUDIT and DIVIDEND decision is FY 2018/19...2019/2020 is still an uncertain future. KenGen has huge receivables, almost 4B shillings for olkaria V....which is pending since it was NOT included in the current tariff regime..plus Force Majeure declaration by KPLC due to COVID should affect their cash and revenues

2019/2020 FY they will get a tax credit for Olkaria V

Had a chance to watch this interview. A key line that may be important is how she mentioned that they will be able to assess the full impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the coming months and disclose it in line with their "reporting requirements". The only reporting requirement that would cover this seems to be a cautionary statement.

Olkaria V also appears to be one of the power plants affected by force majeure but this wasn't discussed in the interview.

In today's newspaper KENGEN has applied for an electric power generation license for Olkaria 1 Unit 6 83.3 MW.
Construction of the plant is scheduled to be completed next year.
