Safaricom mpesa charges ni uwizi tupu!

I beg to differ. They came up with a product. They priced it. People are free to use or not use it.

I think we are too entitled as a society. My product/service, my price. Your money, your decision to spend it or not spend it on my product/service.

We have barbers for example charging 2k for a shave. We don't go there to complain and demanding for government intervention. If one feels they can get better value somewhere else, they vote with their feet!!!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

That comparison of Safaricom with a barbershop is utopian. The greed by Safaricom is beyond bounds. Unfortunately greed is insatiable

It shouldn't matter. Safaricom don't owe anyone their invention, MPesa services. MPesa is neither a natural nor a national resource. Let them be greedy. Let them price themselves out of the market if they so wish. If one has a better option, let them go there. I thought we were in a capitalist economy last I checked.

If it can be done better and cheaper, let anyone else do it. And if people choose to stick with Safaricom for whatever reason, so be it. Safaricom have done a lot to get where they are including building the brand, networks (physical and operational), logistics etc. Whoever thinks it is easy can replicate!!

Capitalism is a double edged sword. Bidii yako, akili yako, resources etc. ndio bahati yako. Mwenzako akikuzudi, shauri yako!!! Market determines prices. Not wishful thinking.

You are either capitalists or socialists. You can't be invoking whichever is convenient at different times.

And how is a barber charging more than 10 times (based on some randamom base value - may be what "other" barbers charge) not greed but Safaricom's is greed?? Why not cap barber, hairdressers, nail techs etc. charges? Why not curb lawyer fees? Restaurant food prices?.Etc.

Tutofautishe socialism na capitalism.

The government can ensure medical care, education etc. are affordable and NOT by capping prices by private providers but by investing, improving quality of and charging an affordable amount for those services effectively pulling prices down Read about private schools in Rwanda and how they went out of business without being forced out.

KQ is pricier than most competition. Greedy. And still makes a loss.

98% loss on your past KQ shareholding is really a significant loss and I would be as unhappy with that matter as you, but time should heal you chief. let it go 😄

Easier said than done in a country like Kenya with folks with dodgy accounting and multiple accounts.

Even banks with "assets" as collateral get screwed over all the time.
