They are back at it again..(..as if they had taken a break)probably you've heard stories of cons using phones in all manner of ways to non-violently rob the unsuspecting public.
Beware when you recieve a call from your phone network to switch off your phone so as to install internet settings or whichever settings there is..
A random acquitance was nearly robbed hands down when he recieved a call from, supposedly Safaricom, requesting him to switch off his phone for 45mins, so as to enable activation of internet settings on his phone..he gladly did so coz coincidentally his phone was new.
On the meanwhile the rogues called his loved ones, telling them that they had kidnapped their kin,and needed 1million as ransom,on a timeline of 45mins failure to which they will be sorry for the repercussions. The fears of his kins were confirmed when they tried calling him and they found he was mteja.
The family held a crisis meeting brainstorming on how to raise the ransom...the 45mins lapsed and while they kins were negotiating for more time their "kidnapped son" called after finding many missed calls on his phone...the rest as they say is history. So next time you are told to switch off your phone,it can help a great deal if you inform your kin that you are switching off your phone for whatever reason.
