Hey people, do you remember the powdered milk saga in 1995: Radioactive powdered milk imported from UkraineThe milk was never sent back, but rather it disappeared from the customs bonded warehouses and found its way to the consumer!!! I boycotted KCC milk for 5 years till the time when it was almost collapsing. ...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

I boycotted KCC milk for 5 years till the time when it was almost collapsing. Those of us who drank maziwa ya nyayo might have partaken this. Who wonders why there's an explosion of cancer? In 1997, the City Council of Nairobi, decided to procure chlorine for its three treatment plants. The tender went to a Kenyan called Kimani Kongo who decided that he knew something more effective at disinfecting water for the capital city…guess what he supplied? Yes, he supplied the city godfathers with enough chalk to disinfect the entire water system. The tenderpreneur went on to buy a house in Muthaiga and a Mercedez Benz. These people are always out to get us. "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. The problem is you hope when you should fear & fear when you should hope: - Jesse Livermore .

This is a familiar script borrowed from a more than 20 years ago circus. There are business rivals here who are at war. Matiang'i did not just wake up wore his suit and instructed his driver to take him to a godown in eastleigh, No!! It could all be about a deal gone sour and some jilted wheeler dealer decided to do the needful and blow the whistle. ...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

I saw a similar post about Nakumatt closure in the 90s due to alleged stocking of beef with mad cow disease. I think it was a post by Wahome Thuku on fb. He said it was issues between the then royal family and Nakumatt that led to the allegations and closure

Obiero & Sansa Quote:Experts will tell you that what makes raw sugar unfit for human consumption is that the way it is physically handled and transported renders it open to contamination from impurities.
In our case, the raw Brazilian sugar was delivered from the mills in Brazil, Swaziland and Dubai by open vessels that often carry fertiliser.
Like sand, bulk oil and clinker, it is moved by conveyor belts directly into ships’ holds. It is then scooped out and put straight into 50 kilogramme bags or — in the case of the bulk shipments that came straight to Mombasa — poured onto the quayside, loaded into open trucks, dumped on warehouse floors and then bagged straight for the Kenyan market.
