Problem of Kenyans is that they only see money being collected.

No one looks at the costs side.

RMS will probably need to hire HR personnel to go through the applications and come up with long lists and shortlists, traverse the counties conducting interviews, perform induction for the new sales people.

If I was in the same position, I would also charge an admin fee.

Lets take your scenario. RMS will hire an HR personnel.

Of who's benefit is this exercise for?

The sales person is going to be hired by RMS to bring business right?

So why should I pay to get that job that will in the end benefit my employer?

We are so used to being conned and played such that we dont know and care for what is right anymore. Burekabisa

Is anyone forcing you to apply? Bas. Let those who want to apply wa-apply. Wewe wachana nayo coz you see conmen all over.

You can find many ways to justify the cost by RMS. it could by weeding out jokers, they'll hire staff to go through applications etc.
However, they are alternate and better ways to do that, and other companies go through such lengthy processes.

But the bottom line is, for RMS, a respectable corporate citizen of the country to ask for money to be considered for a job..., that's immoral.
Someone at RMS should have figured out much earlier that this wouldn't do much good to their public image

Calling this a job scam is a bit misleading.
Rms just want some sales staff to assist in reaching out to politicians in every county for adverts in the run up to elections in the month of August.
The are rumours they will be paid a retainer of 10k plus uknown commission per month. I think they want to use the 1 k registration fee to cover recruitment costs. The morality about it,I am not sure. Surely RMS are not in this for charity.

Sales staff to reach out to politicians? What do you eat for breakfast?

Yes,that is the sole purpose.

That is why it is 8 months and in all the 47 counties.

In Inooro they have been asking those vying to contact them.....

Things are getting worse for the poor kenyans everyday. It started with government institutions demanding that the students pay to be interns in these institutions. Now there are parents who are paying for their kids to be interns in a number of private institutions.RMS says pay 1000 bob to be employed. The poor are completely f*cked up.

Politicians have their own media units that reach out to media stations. Those interviews/discussions you see on tv/radio are not by accident. They are organized. Now explain to me like you'd explain to a 2yr old, what would the sales person be selling to politicians? What for example will they sell to me as an aspiring MCA?

RMG has the widest venacular outreach in Kenya. Think outside the norms for media boss.
