I've been driving Mazdas since 2003. Currently have a 2005, 7-seat Premacy.

My take: stop worrying about specialist mechanics. Any good mechanic will sort you out.

Also stop worrying about parts. If you ever need a special part, go to CMC and talk to a guy called Mwema - he lives up to his name, "good man"!

I once needed an air cleaner cartridge and he got it for me at Sh1,400 which compared well with the Sh1,200 I was being charged by GUD Filters. BTW - not an "under-hand" deal; completely legit!

@Ulemsee @Dirty_imprezza,@mazdaaxela drivers

I am looking to buy a 2008 Mazda axela from a local dealer next week. Would you kindly refer me to your mechanics I need a professional to have a look at the car for me. It's my first car so I don't have an existing mechanic and I can't say I know what to look out for other than it's a beauty I gotta have!

Much appreciated!

If the dealer is near bellevue area(South C),I can scan the engine(for free) for any issues that have been captured by the ECU...email chakacrafts at email dot com

Never thought much of Mazda, but last week I had an order for a Mazda3 MPS Aero 2.3L, 6-speed (Alexa hatchback).
Usually 256bhp but this one has been re-mapped to around 330bhp. Was impressed by its power.
Its 'better' priced than WRX or Evo but compareable power.

Not really. Ford used to have a stake in Mazda which extended to a partnership in North America and Europe.

If I remember correctly Mazda was given access to assembly plants in exchange for engine technology.
