Incidentally, If you know for sure, that Jonah was alive in the belly, and you represent 'common sense', 'even a child knows the answer', tell us how Jonah breathed and why that was Jonah.

The answer is Yes and No...

@Ja-Kom, do dead people pray? Do dead people plead with God?

See the steps. The fish comes and gulped him down. Was he dead or alive? ALIVE!

From the fish's belly he prays to God for help. Do dead people pray? Do dead people plead with God? No. So what was he, dead or alive? ALIVE!

On the third day the fish vomits him on the sea shore. Dead or alive? ALIVE!

"And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah out upon the dry land." book of Jonah chapter 2:10

Jonah (a.s) preaches to the people of Ninevah, they repent.

Dead in sin.

i had typed a long reply to this but my net went off. Let me summarise. The sign of jonah was a man miraculously surviving in a samaki for long. So compelling was the sign that all in Nineveh repented at the preaching of a foreign prophet from a far weaker nation. In similar fashion, the far greater miracle of Jesus' resurrection won even the most doubtful(Thomas) to declare to Jesus: 'My Lord and my God!'

@loloest! we see that Jonah (a.s) remained ALIVE!!! And it is the mightiest miracle in the whole Bible!

You see when you throw a man into a raging sea he ought to drown. He has to die. If he dies, it is not a miracle. A fish comes and swallows him. A fish is not a respecter of person, it is not your friend. So if Jonah had died, it is not a miracle. If he didn't die it is a miracle.

Just to help @tycho a bit... The suffocation in the stomach of a whale, three days and three nights, he ought to die! But he is alive. He goes into the sea alive, he comes out alive, nowhere does it say he died in between and was resurrected.

No! He is ALIVE, ALIVE, ALIVE!

@loloest! and what did Jesus (a.s) say? He says for as Jonah was, so is the son of man. The miracle of Jonah (a.s) says he was alive when we expect him to be dead. Jesus (a.s) says my miracle is the miracle of Jonah (a.s).

Now I am asking the Christians:
Jonah (a.s) was alive for three days and three nights in the whale's belly. Now Jesus (a.s) for the same period of time, was he dead or was he alive? Answer me according to your church, according to 1.7 billion Christians.

The answer from the church is: DEAD!!

Small things excite you @AlphDoti. You haven't told me anything save, 'Jonah didn't suffocate'. And I am asking you how he breathed. Hahaha don't help me with what I don't need AlphDoti!

This is not for you man. You don't celebrate the death of anybody. I'm talking about a miracle in the Bible. The greatest miracle of all. People expected Jonah (a.s) to die but he didn't die.

And it's not excitement, it is serious talk.

Yes.

Jesus was dead in sin. In fact he became sinner no. 1. He took all the sins you can imagine of. And paid for it. Literally. Dead in sin, and dead. Literally.

You do not have to accept it, but I do and I am comfortable with it. And there is nothing you can do to make me change my mind about it. If He did not take yours its ok. He does not have to. What's the big deal?

And what criteria do you use to allocate 'mightiest miracle in the whole bible'? Which is the least miracle, then?

Hahahaha. When someone says that something is alive, he/she does so under some basis. And one basis is breath. So if you say Jonah was alive in the belly, then it's reasonable that he breathed. And you should know how he breathed.

I am just trying to show you the fallacy of your argument. The inference has no grounds, because the premises are wanting.

So now According to you and me, Jonah (a.s) was ALIVE, ALIVE, ALIVE for three days and three nights.

But when I ask the Christians how was Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) in the sepulcher, dead or alive? They say he was dead!

According to your church, Jesus (a.s) was DEAD, DEAD, DEAD for three days and three nights!

I'm asking you, the English man please sir/madam tell me in your language, Jonah is alive, Jesus is dead, is that LIKE Jonah or UNLIKE Jonah in your language.
