Meanwhile, two thousand armed youths of Nuer ethnicity overran a UN base in South Sudan killing at least 11 ethnic Dinka civilians seeking refuge and two Indian peacekeepers who had tried to protect them, the United Nations said. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/21/world/africa/fatal-assault-and-fears-of-war-as-turmoil-builds-in-south-sudan.html?_r=0

Africans should put their house in order. This obsession with presidency/leadership through ethnic cleansing is primitive in this modern world. Otherwise Boers philosophy of " black race isn't inferior but their brains still developing" work to prosper

Why isn't anyone calling it as it is. S.sudan as a country is not viable. The people have absolutely no sense of values or the minimum acceptable human behaviour to hold their nation together. Wazungus might be saying the mind of an African is not fully developed but for our dinka and nuer brothers, am afraid the brain is yet to form leave alone develop.
Anyone who has been to south Sudan knows God was extremely generous to their land but balanced it out by denying them brains. They cannot grasp the concept of law and order. Kenyan corporates operating there have a budget for bribing these mad men. A civil matter is settled by guns and throwing you behind bars. If you demand money from a dinka who owes you, he sends an army batallion to silence you. Our company has spent crazy amounts of money to secure the release of our senior managers arrested on wild allegations. One of the Kenyan banks helped them pay the soldiers when their oil cash dried. They are yet to pay back and they don't believe they owe the bank any money. Its in their own country after all.
A friend tried commercial farming by leasing land. When the venture started looking promising, the owner of the land called in the police to chase away the guy. The list is endless. One can only wish Kenya was a military powerhouse . The only solution for south Sudan is for a stronger country to invade it a la Iraq and Kuwait and run it like a colony for 100 years.

I wanted to bring this up earlier, but I didn't want to stir up biases. Anyhow, no wonder these guys kept pickering about the leadership Sudan president. It's clear they have inferiority or superirity complex. Experts say, this behaviour amnifests itself by the person being authoritative as well. You can see this in how they exaggerate positive opinion abou themselves. They feel self worth and able. The few times I've dealt with these fellows here in Kenya, they persistently show snobbishness. You can sense of extravagant lifestyle. Now if they really have excessive competition and pride as we see them here in Kenya, Then no wonder they will discredit each other’s opinions, and now forcefuly try to dominate each other instead of collaborating

Why don't we use communication to strengthen our states?

Me thinks the place is a mess and should not be left to the indigenous pple to sort the mess. Due to the very high number of weapons in the hands of civilians, it becomes very hard to decimate the mutineers. Voluntary disarmament has failed and a forceful one should be done immediately . Very soon all parties will run out of ammunition and that will be a good starting point "Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter least." Goethe

I was there for more than six months and what I came across is from another world. One time their army forced Kenyan trailer drivers to test the depth of a flooded river, we lost two Kenyans that day.

A Ugandan business man told me he can't blame the Southerners for their savage behaviour. According to him, this is as a result of more than 5 decades of war. They know nothing but bush and the tough life of war

If Riek Machar gets in the way of oilmen making their billions then I think what will happen next is predictable: There will be a tumultous few months as civil war rages, spies recruited and intelligence gathered. Then poor Riek will get a missile dropped on his head by a drone or taken out by hired mercenaries. Savimbi is precedent. He was as wily as the devil but they still got him. The green buck (or the yuan) really is the final word.

Coup or ethnic cleansing? This has all the attributes of a 'purge' to silence Riek and Mrs Garang Truth forever on the scaffold Wrong forever on the throne (James Russell Rowell)

This is a load of xenophobic bull crap! Do you realize every word you have written above can, and has been said, about a country called Kenya? Should the Bazungu or Waarabu take over our country too and run it for 100 years? It is by such mono dimensional 'advise' that human disasters are crafted. Thank god you are in business, not leadership "The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. But the opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth." (Niels Bohr)
