This is the priced I.P.O since Scan group.

Those 400shares could just have easily traded in the opposite direction... No relationship with the above just abit of OBJECTIVITY.. You should try it some time!

Applause Applause Applause Not at 15/- but I would look at it AFTER I see the audited 2012 results then see what a reasonable price is.

1) The accountants report showed a 1Q loss.
2) The unaudited report showed a profit for 1H of 54mn - This reminds me of Olympia which consistently has a profitable unaudited 1H then a 'loss' for the full year!
3) I have been spoiled by low PER stocks like KK (which was at a 5 PER) & Williamson at 3-5 PER.
4) I do not trust FT Nyammo. Look up Kenya Finance Bank.
5) 2009 & 2010 PAT was around 22mn for each year so the HUGE profit jump (5x) just BEFORE the Listing makes me wonder.
6) Election year & a tight budget for 2012 & 2013. Will Govt spend as much on buying new textbooks?
7) Sam Ongeri is no longer Education Minister so no more 'Most Favored Status' for Longhorn

Finally, @stocksmaster has not endorsed it d'oh! d'oh! d'oh! at 15/-

If it had traded the other way towards 9/- then I would have a second look. I am NOT trashing the business or the firm but the PRICE based on what I see as fundamentals.

P.S. At 25/-, I think KK is too pricey no matter how much folks like the Company or Segman! If Puma's offer is 25/- Drool Drool Drool I would advise investors/shareholders to take it & run then move into Total or NOCK (if it is privatised) at a 'decent price' or even Longhorn ( at 9/- or lower).

What do you mean about objectivity? I believe in what Warren Buffett says. If you do not trust the Management. Do not invest in or with them.
Compare Merali (Sameer, Eveready & Sasini) vs Aga Khan (TPS-Serena, Nation, Diamond, Jubilee)
Compare Olympia vs City Trust [Both are small Investment Cos]
Compare Equity vs CFC-Stanbic
Compare KQ vs KK [Fuel/Oil prices & Forex is a huge concern for both but KK's Management/Board has a stake while KQ does not]

@VVS This seems to be the concern of many wazuans..
And i must say it is a genuine concern because the same red flag was raised in BRITAK..

Whether or not they will sustain 2011 PAT will be revealed if they do or if they dont issue a profit warning... This will be a key decision date for speculators on this counter...

So let me get this straight... After all your objectivity, you are not not buying Longhorn at 15/-. Now that is all the objectivity one needs! Liar Shame on you Liar

Im not buying this stock at any price!!

This is not about if longhorn is a buy or not at 15.. The argument is whether or not the stock would follow the path of TCL and BRIT basing on its valuations and earnings..

Wow, at 20/- I shudder at the forward PE Ratio [or more important the potential for a decent return for 'new' shareholders!

Anyway, moving on, some stocks look very delicious at these prices!

Well, since you do not buy publishers... why stress? I buy anything that makes sense [not all work out] & I am scouting a few prospects. Cash is tight. One major disadvantage of the KK takeover is... no liquidity!
