What I saw was just emotions and 'never ever set foot in this business again' from the lady in green.

This never seems to happen with the Ndegwa's. Well organised folks who seem to never like having their kids running their businesses. They prefer serious professionals, hired by external consultants Etc.

Soon there may be nothing for these Tuskys kids to fight over

There are new nimble supermarkets with better customer care coming up. e.g Quickmart in Ruaka has more customers than Tuskys Ruaka across the road.

Last year there was a fist fight between old CEO and one of the brats in full view of the employees, now this. The board should have stood by the CEO to break the cycle and show the kids that such shenanigans won't be allowed any more.

That was the board. In family matters the line is very very thin. It's like the parents who are the senior board sent the children who are the junior board to give the CEO marching orders.

Very embarrassing indeed. Instead of the 3rd generation using the wealth to go the "Harvards", intern at "Wallmarts" and return and perfect on what the first generation built, they are busy shouting Haki Yetu. Kwanza that lady in green in the video ni disaster. This is one business taht cannot last for long. I am pretty sure the branch managers are by now plundering the branches and stockings their Kiosks

Very true. Very few family enterprises can survive this. The wealth is being seriously diluted with each subsequent generation yet, to maintain their accustomed lifestyles, they end up spending more than the generated returns from the business.

So the infighting we're now seeing becomes more and more the focus of the family members as each one of them wants to continue enjoying the wealth, while no new wealth is being generated.

It's inevitable.

Surely, what is the secret of the Ndegwa family? They are so discreet in their affairs and have stayed out of public eye despite being among the richest families in Kenya.

One word- Education. You don't take kids to Wharton and they come back shouting haki yetu.

Did you know that almost all the major smarkets can trace their origins in Nakuru .
Namumatt, Tuskys, Naivas, Quickmart, Homematt......
