Ok.

Lakini ukiangalia vizuri utaona South Africa and those countries on the west coast have the best connection to the outside world. The big question is how much have they invested to spread that bandwidth countrywide.. ama ina-land tu and that's it?

mmh.food for thought.nimeona kweli.
A country's external connection is not a reflection of it's internal connection
I guess this is where a goverment's commitment comes into play and kenya has really tried.

Apparently Kenya has dropped from 2nd position to 5th, while Rwanda has taken the N.o. 1 spot from Ghana. Nigeria is 13th.

Rwanda is averaging at 7.28 Mbps

The link that's in the first post in this thread has Kenya at 4.84, the second report, by the same company, has Kenya at 4.34

Personally, I have and noticed and is experiencing higher speeds from Airtel & Safaricom (for safcom, instantly after they stopped unlimited), Orange also made some improvements by rolling out 42 Mbps in particular locations (have not tried, just hear that it's fast), thus causing me to doubt the report, because Kenya should be ranked higher due to the improvements.

It's an independent company, we do not know the methodologies and controls they used, because there are lots of variables to factor, such as the time of the test. The network is obviously slower during peak vs off peak, while for wireless mobile internet, different locations or towers employ various technologies, thus giving different speeds.

We can't take their word as final.

It would be nice to have more companies, with transparent methodologies conducting tests.

Meanwhile, even if they may have Ke's numbers wrong, lets enjoy the faster speeds that we have, as we wait for 4G, aka LTE.
