Also the future is very promising for the company, and there may be share actions:bonus, splits who knows.

I really hope for your sake the share actions come to pass because I can honestly say ive heard investors wishing for these actions for the past 6 years..

What exactly do you think makes the future promising for this company¿¿ And plse do not talk about real estate because that is pure speculation...
i'm actually not banking on the share actions at all, its just something that would be good if it happens
. Meanwhile i will keep enjoy their handsome dividends. I think they will continue churning out profits, even though not always like this year-where weakening shilling and one of sale will give bumper profits.

Can some one explain why the hell the book closure date is so early??? The announcement was done yesterday and the book closure is on the 15th February 2012.

I find no problem with that.

If the book closure was at a later date then the share could have even hit a high of 500/-.

If you did not get it and at the correct price take it on the chin and quit ranting, you are better of looking out for the next Williamson.

Just wait in case the share goes higher others will come out, its never easy to state your position publicly before it has been successful.

Its worth noting that what Williamson Tea is paying is not a special dividend (from the sale of Williamson House) but an Interim dividend from ' the financial performance of the company'.

Remember by half year, they had made Ksh 89 EPS of which about 60% was in solid cash (not biological assets).

I think this indicates a dividend policy shift from the directors realisation that Ksh 80 - 100 EPS will be with the company for at least the next 2 years as has been the case for the last 2 years.

It will be interesting to see what they give as final dividend for the year ending March 2012 and wether a special dividend could still be in the pipeline.

As a mature company, it is expected that their dividend payment rates as a percentage of total EPS (less biological component)should approximate those of other mature companies such as BAT, Stanchart, etc.

Happy Hunting.

The charts/cartoons gives me an edge as a trader/Investor, like now I'm happy to keep cash in the near term until I see the index at 2950 or above 3200...and what fundamentals have changed for me to buy it at 305? After watching it stagnate at 255 all this weeks, all I know is WTK needs the cash, they can't afford to dish it out like that.

@the deal after the 50bob dividend is paid there will be 860million in cash (100 per share) and 4.5 billion in capital reserves (500 per share)

im not understanding your comments...
what exactly can't they afford because im aware these are the highest reserves in their industry¿¿
What kind of rainy day are you expecting, Armagedon¿¿

Didnt you say a while back that agriculturals should increase their dividends¿¿ what changed your opinion¡¿
