'She went to her car then came back with a gun.' On this score alone she should be charged with careless handling of a firearm. A civilians firearm is expected to be either in an immovable safe (a precondition before getting a firearm certificate) or on the person of the licensee. It appears her bonoko was in the glove compartment. Her driver (who I assume is a trained cop) should also be charged for not preventing the preparation to commit a felony by allowing her to take the piece in an obvious fit of rage.

Still cant believe it...she did it and yet is unapologetic about it? What will the police be investigating? The possibility of the guard being a hireling of the would-be assasins?

Good observation. We need balance.

PRESS STATEMENT by Nancy Baraza, Deputy CJ

In the last few months a number of security incidents have occured in and outside my office. As such, threats of violence have been directed at me and I have had to request increased security measures for my office as well as my own personal security.

The unfortunate incident at the Village Market should be viewed in light of the genuine security apprehension on my part. I certainly had no intention of high handedness, arrogance or ill will.

At this point, it would be inappropriate and prejudicial to make further comment on a matter which is under active police investigation. Let us allow for the police investigation in this matter to be complete without interference whatsoever.

Hon. Justice Nancy Baraza
Deputy Chief Justice/ Vice President Supreme Court
Judiciary.

Hogwash!
Even a castrated monkey would not believe her.
Shame on you

A good judiciary for for my beloved country Kenya would be the one which is centre-right,we dont deen a LEFT judiciary for real.
In most developed countries (and emerging ones) the judiciary is normally conservative (RIGHT).

I am on record to have emphatically voted NO to deny these loud-mouth activist a chance to lead our beloved country;but the euphoria at the time prevented many from thinking straight like adult human beings.

She said that Ms Baraza told her that she was a senior government official before dismissing her, saying that she ought to know senior people. But the guard said that she stood firm and insisted that she had to check Ms Baraza’s purse.

“As we were arguing, her male bodyguard came nearer. She ordered him to shoot me, but he declined,” said Ms Kerubo.
